OK folks, I swapped out my DD3's for a new set of Mach1. 6 for towing/egt reasons.

To hell w/towing , I want my power back.

I drive my truck at least 5 days a week & tow once every two months.

It's time to put some bigger sticks back in it.

I'm thinking in the 200-250 hp range. Nothing less.

When EGTs go up, I guess I'll have to twin it, bummer :)

So who has the best injector out there now a days bang for the buck ?

I dont want some mismatched piece of crap running like *** in my truck, yet dont really need my *** hurting for no reason either.

Anyone needing or interested to swap hot injectors for a good set of low mi. Mach 1. 6's w/origional box ?

Reason I bring this to the top is I know alot has changed in the injector world last few yrs.

I feel for you! I run 240's in the '01 and can tow anything I would like, but then again it's a stick and twinned...

I don't think I would dare run such injectors in my auto, even with twins; I think it would be way too hot. Why not settle for a good set of 150's or something?

Can't help you with who's best these days as I have had mine for a while now, and they are Mach injectors anyway...
 
My truck has 410's & rolls on 37" tires, so 3rd @ 65 is right around 2200-2500.

I just miss the power !!!

I really didnt see a huge drop in the DD3 to Mach 1. 6 on power, but to go back the other way I'd go bigger than 3's.

I'm also considering swapping out my modded hX-40 for possibly a S400 or something of that nature.

To be truthfull, I dont have the cash for twins right now, but plenty to trade if someones pulling a good set off !

Dr. Injector recomended Seattle Injector, I'll call them tomorrow for cleaning & pop test. Anyone have an idea of cost of this service?

Last time I had injectors cleaned and pop tested it was a little under $100 for the set.
 
Good luck with the Mach 5's... wow. I run Mach 4's in my truck and it gets fairly toasty real easy.

all of the mach's I have had I sent to Don and they were done free. just paid shipping. might want to check that out

Well I'm finally going to have my hands on these by the end of the week.

The truck they are in is being traded in & I just bought a set of H. O. sticks from fley bay for 130. 00 shipped.

My buddy wants 150 for the swap, so I'll be in them 280. 00 :)

I do know they still need to be cleaned.

So if I send them out to Don I may get this done for free ? That would be awesome ! Possibly pop test them to maybe ?



OK, so how do I get a hold of Don so I can talk w/him about these ?



Also, for towing, my guess would be Edge box on 1-1 & smarty on fuel saver ?



Anyones thoughts on all this ?

In general, you do NOT want to tow on fuel saver because it advances the timing a lot! If you also add in the timing of the Edge, I think you will have too much timing.



I have Jammer 4 injectors, 125hp, Edge, and Smarty. For towing I dont use the Edge at all. It makes the cruise not usuable, smokes a lot more, and doesn't seem to help mileage at all. I have been running the Smarty on SW#5 with the Torque at 5, timing at 3, and duration at 2 I think to keep the smoke down. Runs pretty well like this and pulls hard. This is for towing pretty heavy FYI. Good luck!

OK, so the cleaning went well & should have the injectors back this week ! Sweet ! Thanks Don !!! Mach 5's !!! Mach 5's!!! YEH !!!

I just found on Craigs List a brand new ATS Arc-Flow intake & put that on.

Results are a small decrease in EGT when climbing Mt. Pass empty so far.



I Been doing some money/parts swapping w/Shane @ Performance Diesel Warehouse lately & will also have other stuff showing up this & next week.

I got my ARP head studs on Monday. I'll install those when the injectors show.



The Silver 64/74/14 is being built right now & hopefully should have that by the end of the week. ATS exhaust is on backorder till next week. So---Hopefully by the end of this week I'll have studs & injectors in. Hopefully by the end of next week manifold & turbo will be on. We shall see. :D



I've already had a few requests for my Mach 1. 6's I bought new from Bob Wagner, I have saved those P. M. 's in this forum and another.

I'll try & figure out a fair price for them & start going down the list.

The PDR HX40 from Piers (still rocks) will also be on the selling block also. I dont want to sit on these parts for long but need fair money from them both to partially compensate for new purchase !

P. M. me respectable offers on these parts if you wish & when its time to pull next week, I can get it all worked out. I know this isn't the swap meet area.



I'll keep everybody posted of my opinion on this new install once completed & I take a day to tweak. Cant wait--I'm Stoked !!!
 
Got the Silver 64 today. Still dont have my injectors. This sucks.

I have the ARP studs, gonna do them w/the injector swap. Dont have.

I have the new turbo, gonna do that w/the 3-piece manifold. Dont have.

Damn-it !!!
