Loose 3RD Gen Towing Mirror

Just got back from a 4K road trip (Non Towing). I can tell my driver side mirror (inside the housing) is loose. It is a very small wobble!!!



How do you tighten the dam thing?. Or is something broke?.

Do a search on here, there is a thread regarding the replacement of the towing mirror glass... it should show you how they come apart (with pictures). I used to have the link, but can't find it now.

Replacing the glass will not fix-it. the innerds went ti@@'s up

I never said it would fix it, only provide the instructions to disassemble the unit to see what's broken.

So the whole mirror needs to be replaced?



You know me what ever it needs I can do it. I will probably wait until the dam thing (glass) falls out.

Thanks for taking the time to locate the post. It looks like it is just clipped in?. I didn't see anything to tighten.

Mine wasn't quite as easy as that. When I popped mine off, it was still attatched to the power pack plate and rubber grommet. I took off the grommet to see that the center ball was broken off from it's mount on the inside. It had stayed in place as the plate also pops over the motor arms inside. So I put some JB weld on the ball end where it pulled away and snapped the mirror back into the arms. Then went along with the install as normal.



It talks about something broken that needed glued back together... might you get that lucky?
