Anyone know where Bignasty is? I haven't heard from him in a few weeks. I miss his stories and pictures.

I think he's off doing who knows what in the woods.
Grizz
Ive been off in the mountains doing a 364 mile loop trip from home to the bottom side of Glacier Nat Park, We left and went across the mountain range to the East side of the Rocky's in the Scapegoat Wilderness, Bob Marshall Wilderness, up to Browning and across the Rocky's again to the town of Hungry Horse in the Great Bear Wilderness and spent some time with a few of the fellow packers in the area, kind of a Rendezvous if you will. The trip consisted of 3 people myself, my ex Boss and a 13 year old young man that is quite a woodsmen in his own right.
We had help with re-supply points for stock feed and our feed also at Choteau Mt from my Nephew that lived in Babb. We never left the mountains to get the feed, they and some people from the Reservation brought it up to us. We got some assistance from him and his wife again when we got near Browning with some supplemental feed for the livestock.
When we got to Hungry Horse MT we met up with some of the packers that we see during hunting season. Along the way I was tracking the collared Bears that we did a few years ago during a bear study when the Nephew that brought us feed was doing his College thesis, I was also spotting game for the upcoming hunts that we are going on, I have to say this year is going to be a GREAT ONE!!! if the game dont go invisible when the season comes around. I also made op's checks on the fire towers and took some radio equipment to one that needed a replacement that Penny and 3 other family members brought and met up with us in Big Fork MT. They made the last week of the trip to home with us and another feed re-supply.
My Ex Boss and the young man Danny had some great fishing along the way, both are avid fly fishermen. Danny caught two 21" trout biggest on the trip. Most were in the 17" range and thick. I don't fish so I did what I do best the picture below explains that event pretty much in detail :-laf
Had a few bear encounters that made me the one that got to stay up at night and stand bear watch, so the sleep during the day was much needed. Danny is my Pard for a 13 year old he his well versed in the outdoors, He is one that has the best of both worlds that I only have one of. He is both smart (which im not) and he is a great woodsmen he has knowledge that will last a life time, with a little more weight and height he will be a fine packer. He knows the knots and all its just that he don't have the size to get things on the animals and tight. He and I worked on his survival skills the entire trip, im sure that HE'S NOT going to be in the newspaper telling of a disaster happening. This hunting season he's going to pack with me for two weeks and then go hunting to get his first Elk if I can do anything about it to help him along, im sure that he can do it I just want to be with him when he does.
It was a fine trip, one that we will remember and talk about until we part this beautiful place, I didn't know just how beautiful it was until all I had to do is LOOK AT IT!! So many times we have things right in front of us and dont see them as they should be seen. Now its on to hunting camp set up and supply then hunting season and our hunts, and get ready for the winter again. This and trips like this will make the long cold winter, more bearable in-front of the wood stove keeping warm.
Take Care Grizz
