Let's talk leveling kits for the 2014 + trucks

On my 04, I installed the spring spacers, aligned and drove for the next 250k.

For my next truck, whether it be a 2014 or 15, I'm sure I'll add a leveling kit but I was thinking I would go with longer replacement coils and shocks such as from Thuren or Carli.

Both companies claim to offer ride improvement etc etc but are these coils designed to work hard like the trick was intended or are they simply limp coils springs that are 2" longer?

They have a softer spring rate to improve ride quality but can still handle day to day and hauling good. With the long radius arms the geometry is much better then the older 4 link design when its leveled, a shock matched to the spring rate also plays a huge part. Thuren has had coils out for a while now with great customer feedback and will be releasing rears soon, I know Carli will be releasing there kit soon aswell

Put a BDS leveling kit with Fox 2.0 shocks as an upgrade and the ride is great. Tires and wheels will be 35x12.50x18 Toyo ATII and Moto Metal 18x9 5.45 back spacing

I put on the Ready Lift 1.75" coil spacers, and 2" rear blocks with stock shocks, and 35 x 12.50 x 18 Toyo AT 2 tires on stock wheels. It rides like a 1 ton, better shocks would probably help...

Easily! And if you added some curve to the ramp, I have no doubt that you could pull off the first ever Dodge Cummins backflip like Travis Pastrana.

JHawes have you ordered your 2015 yet? I know when I gave up my 05 to my son it was rough, but he had been asking for years. I had to drive his gas GMC for a couple of months before I found my new one.

I haven't ordered anything yet but I have been scouring the inter web for the perfect 2014; still haven't located one. I'm patiently waiting for the 2015 brochures to show or at least an update on the Ram site before I jump.

I guess if ya never tow with your truck a leveling kit is fine but as soon as you throw a load on the rear you are nose high. Then you need bags then you have a harsh ride. All that just so you can be "level".

That is a nice 98.5 JR. I never had a problem towing my horse trailer, flatbed, or boat with either of my leveled trucks.

My question on leveling kits; is there one that is 1.5" . I have plow prep and my truck really only needs about that. I searched and find 2" - 2.5"

Nope. Just about every leveling kit I've seen on the market jacks the front up between 1 and 3 inches to make it (roughly) level with the rear end. I'd imagine you could entertain the same concept by lowering the rear end, but that would be at the expense of clearance and possibly towing capacity and/or ride comfort.
