I added the B&W setup to my 2013. For up to 20k fifth wheel use, I would prefer it to the complicated factory setup. Easy to install, high quality.

I rather have a hitch that attaches to the truck frame to carry the weight rather than the bed floor! Snoking

On the 2013-up 3500s and the 2014-up 2500s, the gooseneck bolts to a monster crossmember of the frame that was designed to hold a gooseneck hitch, either factory or B&W mount the same. The B&W Companion fifth wheel hitch plugs into the gooseneck hole, not rails that bolt to the bed! Yes, it has rails that rest on the bed but does not rely on them for all its strength. I wrote it up in detail in Issue 83.

The sheet metal bed is what supports the weight. Ask, RAM, B&W and Andersen if they
Warranty a damaged bed from these type hitches. Snoking

I'm a super-cheap type of guy. I installed my fifth wheel hitch in my 15 3500 with homemade brackets. I had plenty of 3" angle iron and 1/4" plate around. It was a pain, but I didn't have to drill a single hole in the frame. I built my brackets to hit holes already in the frame and the shock mounts. It can be done, but it wasn't fun.

Ok looks like 5th Wheel - 82213665AB kit provides the four mounts & caps. $200-250. Which is good, as I do not care about the gooseneck part. Chris
