OK, so bought new truck from Dave Smith. 200miles later throws two DEF codes common with the 2013 issues. Two dealers on the way back home reset but dont know what to say. Local dealer tells me today with 1600miles that the CAT needs to be replaced after speaking with Dodge and that another new truck like mine has the same issue. Either the dealer is lying and it is bad DEF or the CAT is really defective out of the factory. Told by manager that historically a spray lubricant used during assembly was causing the issues with the CAT and that since the 2016/17 have a new design that perhaps this is still happening as the issue. REALLY! Is this the level of QC we can expect on 70K trucks these days. I guess we will see as this story evolves. My other suspicion is that they are putting crap parts in the trucks at the factory knowing they will need to be replaced. If this ends up being a new trend with Dodge they will loose a lot of customers. Even my wife said, "are you sure you bought the right truck".. Ouch
