Where or what kind of store carries these cap's?

I'm chasing a problem too after my 1 and so far only attempt at running a 15K Dometic and my Honda EU3000is. And nope, didn't know I had a 15K when I bought the 3000.

Clamp on ammeter for this weekend and do some circuit load testing.

It started and sounded good, then 5-10 min later, overload not CB kicked in. POSSIBLE that the converter kicked in and it can draw almost 1K,

Thanks, more reading for tonight and in particular about cap checker function. I've got to add that to my list of functions on my un-purchased clamp on tester.

I got mine at a local HVAC store.

Your EU3000is should have no problems running a 15K BTU A/C.

I know Amazon has many types of capacitors. I'd guess any HVAC repair outfit would also have a supply.

I was going to order mine on Amazon but I got them MUCH cheaper locally. I think it was just under 1/2 price to go local, maybe less.

Need to learn more, but I have one other oh crum issue. The trailer is an Airstream. You don't get the privilege of just walking all over the roof as req'd. It's doable but wrong move leaves big foot print at least. I've got an HVAC store that has sat hours but test first if possible. Helps with learning curves. I took the cover off this weekend, that was a long reach. Had to do that to check for unknowns and find ID label.

I checked the Klein clamp on meter that I'm eyeing has capacitance, MIN/MAX and thermometer functions.

I picked up the capacitors this morning. $18 for 3 new caps. Even thou I don't suspect an issue with the fan run or the Supco hard start it's too cheap to replace everything.

I am also swapping my Supco SPP6E out for a SPP6. The E works well but I believe that the SPP6 might work better.

I'll get them installed this evening and see what happens.

It appears to be working much better. It starts easier and the compressor seems to be running better as I was getting a 25° temperature drop last night.

I haven't been able to really load test it but I will report back when I do.

Just an update, not all wrapped up but here's the latest.

I hooked up the Honda 3000, I turned off all breakers, the Surge Guard powered up and then one by one I added circuits. Nothing happened until I hit the circuit for the converter. The load changed, a bit of fluctuation on the gen and it several minutes later it finally stabilized, (measured with a new Klein clamp on) sorta at 14A. The WFCO 55A nameplate says 950W so at 120V that's only 8A why measuring 14A ? That was the only AC breaker powered up. Both batteries new this spring.

I chose the Klein because it has a MIN MAX and K type thermo couple. It's off to a good start.

Turn off WFCO breaker, turn on AC.

Honda waited for AC power up, fired up cleanly sounded good and stabilized at 14.17A at 124VAC, 1757W. Found Dometic data, Cooling Rated Load Amps 12A and fan is 3.3A. Combined 15.3 and I measured just under that but stable and running like a champ.

My first idea is that last weeks 14.17A from AC and 14A possibly from the WFCO last week and the Honda said, no thanks.

Power management may be required with a 3000 trying to run a 15K and that WFCO is at least on my radar screen and I'll at least look into the batteries, where's that hydrometer?

I would suspect the WFCO before the batteries as they are known to be crap converters.

Well I think my issue is fixed.

I put about 8 hours on the A/C this weekend and didn't have any issues. I was at 5,000' and it was up to 90° outside. The A/C also seems to be about 4° cooler with the new run cap too.

I replaced my POS WFCO with a PD4655 and am quite happy with its performance.

Tested my CAP

It took a bit but I finally safely got access to the AC CAP. The Airstream roof is not a step on anywhere roof, that was a challenge.

Klein meter to test, CAP is a 50+15uf +/- 6%

Herm to C 48.8uf
Fan to C 14.75uf

Within specs but while its off I might see about a new one.

PD9260 is on the radar screen too.

After lunch a bit later, he finds a second CAP buried under the big cap and very difficult hardware access.

Dometic calls this one Compressor Start Kit per parts list. Finally got it out and its a 43-53uf the Klein says 55.5uf

It has a hole and I see a bit of corrosion dust or something.

I think I'm replacing both and hoping for the best. At least I'm not in camp.
