You and your fancy shmancy bucket.....I bet my hands stay cleaner.![]()
I'm here for purely entertainment value.
I tried a 2x4 but with the force the oil comes out I changed to a 2x6 to keep the pail stable. It's about 12" long.

That’s funny.....
What’s NOT funny is that I can’t go through the wheel well in my 2018 RAM 4500 to change the oil filter.
I can, however, do it straight from the bottom like the 2007.5 through 2012 model years.
Is that because when they updated the 3500 frames & suspension in 2013 and the 2500 frames in 2014, they did not do any updates to the 4500+ frames and suspension/steering ?On your 4500, like my 13' 2500, your front shocks are inside the coil springs. On the 13' 3500 and 14' and up 2500 & 3500's, the shocks are behind the springs preventing access to the oil filter from below.

No.....there’s an additional crossmember that prohibits oil filter access from the bottom. On your 4500, like my 13' 2500, your front shocks are inside the coil springs. On the 13' 3500 and 14' and up 2500 & 3500's, the shocks are behind the springs preventing access to the oil filter from below.

"Seems years ago there was a lot less nonsense and bickering going on."
I have a theory, our trucks are so much more dependable and not a lot of things that need BOMBing so we get side tracked on nonsensical stuff!
You left out “partial oil changes”, Dooooooofusssss.......What !!!!!!! Nonsensical, what could be more important then how we change our oil filters, or whether we use synthetics, or probably one of the most important is getting the OEM air ride ,instead of aftermarket![]()
