Removing Dents

Buying a used lift

After reading some of the literature that comes with the gauge ( I always read this stuff after installing) you can buy a programming cable and software for 32.00 to adjust the red low pressure light along with some other things. Just what I need is some more computer stuff, although the bright red low pressure might be nice but you should be watching that needle anyway.

My OEM Powerwagon Flares arrived today. Looking forward to getting them on next weekend.

Our 2010 1/2 ton has rust on both rocker panels and the drivers side wheel arch. It is still under Ziebart warranty so I'm hoping to have it fixed with assistance from them this summer.

Luckily, that truck is pretty much worn out and I'm not really worried about it.

It is and it is very frustrating. But it is reality. You really only have 2 choices here. Drive a vehicle all year long and know that it is going to rot away or use it from April through October and drive a beater for the winter half of the year. I've tried it both ways and both have their advantages and disadvantages. Neither option is cost effective.

That brine crap they dump on the roads every winter should be outlawed...…..they say it makes the roads safer, I disagree. It makes us unsafe when the integrity of our autos dis-appears before our very eyes.

I found that when they pre-treat the roads they got very "greasy", and made it more dangerous.

Yeah, wet roads + cold temps = harder tire compound and decreased stopping ability. People (not directed at you) see "clear" roads and think they can run over the speed limit as if it were a sunny summer day.

The first 10 or so miles of my drive to work consists of secondary township roads that are lucky to get plowed twice a day and dont get any treatments. The last 12 or so are highway and freeway miles maintained by ODOT. Most mornings im on the roads when even the state plows are scarce, if they know they are going to be absent for a while they will dump extra heavy in an effort to keep the roads from freezing. Problem with this is we get a lot of lake effect snow and can get several inches of wet heavy snow on the roads before they make it back through making it the worst slush fest you've ever seen. This is where you see the most wrecks around here. They would literally be better off plowing the roads and adding nothing like they do on the secondary roads I run. They are usually in better shape.

You should see the trucks that put the stuff down!
My truck is doing ok. I have to get with the fluid film. Painting, even POR15 is not the total answer. My Bed is pretty bad but my cab seems good.
One thing I did, since always had a sticky tailgate latch was I poured some oil down the inside of the gate, because I saw 3 gen gates starting to rot at the bottom, like the Bronco gates did, and it seems to be working. I guess the oil worked into the pinch seam, and is preserving the metal.
Justin, those flares look good. Not gaudy at all!

Thanks, I'll take some pictures after I get them on. I just didn't want to buy flares that looks like a teenager would buy. I've seen several with these OEM flares that look pretty good.

For the most part, my truck is doing ok as well. Just a few bubbles above the right rear wheel. Drivers bedside was replaced a few years ago and it is still rust free. I do have some bubbling on the inside bottom of the drivers door and the rear passenger door, right along the seam. Nothing has really spread, but it will eventually .
