Cummins NT855-GA Maintenance?

I think I might need lots of advice from TDR

I follow the guide below to change my Cummins generator lubricating oil, is that reliable?
50 hours for the first time and 50 hours after repair or overhaul. The oil replacement cycle is usually carried out at the same time as the oil filter (filter element). The general oil replacement cycle is 250 hours or one month. Using Class 2 oil, the oil can be replaced after 400 hours of work, but the oil filter (filter element) must be replaced.

Any suggestions?

We have Cat Aux Gen on the boats I work on . The 3406 with the 1200 RPM Gen set requires 500 hour oil changes. The 3306 with the 1800 RPM gen set requires 250 hour oil changes. and the C9 with 1800 RPM gen set requires 300 hour oil changes. That said the 3406 and 3306 engines have run well over 30,000 hours , one 3406 has 45,000 hours on it with No issues. the C9's fell apart but not from oil issues. Injector and Huey pump and cracked head issues.
That said follow the service recommendations set out by Cummins and enjoy a long happy life. Do Not Go Cheap.
