New tires are on, and the alignment is under way (setting to Thuren specs).

I did peek at the tires and they are now 3PMSF rated. I read that cooper was getting the AT3 XLT’s certified but hadn’t seen anything recently. The 275/70R18 is certified! Another win for these tires.

That must either be very recent or I got some old tires. They were purchased in June. Might have to check the date codes out of curiosity.

Another vote here for the Cooper Disc AT3. I have them on my 2wd and they have almost 45k miles and have 7/32 tread left on them. Best set of tires I have ever purchased for this truck and I used to have to buy sets every 6-8 months.

So what are the Thuren specs for a DRW? 1/64" Toe as I have been stating since 2013?

Never mind, I thought you had a DRW.

Toyo OC AT and AT2 on every RAM I've owned. Rotate every 6k if you're a heavy foot street driver. I had a set last 40k, Well worth the $ for a tire.

Anyone tried the Cooper AT3 XLT in the LT285/75R18 size yet? Looks good, a little taller (1-1.5" or so) than stock, not any wider and barely heavier that I can tell. Have to wear out these cheap Ironman AT's the dealer put on, then going with some AT3s or S/T MAXX in the 285 or a 295 since the MAXX doesn't come in a 285 so far.

My 14 came with a set of new ST Max. After about 10k miles they became extremely noisy. They also wore very fast - they were down to the wear bars in less than 30k miles. If you don't tow often they may last a little longer.

All that plus a lot of squirm for the first 5000 or so miles. It wasn’t a fluke either. I had them twice with some Toyo’s in between. Tread wear was awful when towing in the summer. I’ve been the happiest so far with my AT3 XLTs.

I had one set of ST MAXX on the '98 and loved them. Leaning towards the AT3s though, they are getting fantastic reviews and seem to do well offroad in the same situations I find myself in - gravel and Forest Service roads, and what little snow we get here in NC.

Heads up if you haven’t discovered it yet, regardless of your wheel size your spare is on 18 inch rim and may also be a different size and style.. I had 20 inch wheels with AT tires stock and my spare was on 18 inch rim and an HT and was also a different size/diameter. Not a lot different but different enough I wouldn’t run the spare in 4wd or for anything but a short distance (even if stock size). Which was a huge problem for me.

Ended up buying a new rim from tire rack and putting a matched spare on it so I can run it if I need to. My tire is 34.57 inch, and BARELY fits in the under bed spare location. I wrapped it with a cable for security and in case that little cable on the spare holder breaks.

Still loving my Cooper AT3 XLT in 285 65r20

I'm looking at Copper AT3 XLT in 295 70 18 mounted on OEM Larimie stock wheels. Does any one run this combination? Want to know if there are any fender clearance issues, or lock to lock steering problems.
2017 2500 diesel with stock suspension.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned the Falken Wildpeaks AT3 tire. I have about 8,000 miles on mine on 295/70/18 size. Wearing well at the mileage I have now. They are quiet, good side wall for an A/T, and good on dry and wet pavement. I’ll know more this coming winter for snow and offroad in the Sierra’s.

DRW and SRW will have the same specs, Thuren uses deg for toe as its far more accurate but would be pretty darn close to 1/64" at 0.00-0.05 total toe in.

^^^^^ Thanks!

Not many miles yet but these are quiet, smooth riding!

I got some heavy miles on the AT3 XLT's this weekend, 100% of tire capacity on the rear axle. They were at 80 psi cold and warmed up to 88-89 psi for most the drive, but never felt warm when checked. I didn't hit them with an IR gun as they were very cool to the touch so I never bothered.

All in all I am happy with how they handled the load, and are more stable at 100% capacity than the OEM tires were.. same load index and pressure.

I did about 130 miles of dirt, 1/2 of which was towing, and they did great. What little snow I saw wasn't an issue, but they will get a better snow workout in the coming weeks.

I did noticed that my TPIS reads a little low a the beginning of the day, but catches up within a couple miles... long before the tires warm up. Must just be how TPIS reads the sensors. 80 psi on 2 gauges was 73 psi in the truck for 2-3 miles, then 79 until they were warm in 15-20 miles where they read 85 and slowly crept up to 88-89 after 50 miles. Maybe FCA has it error on the low side for safety?

Big elevation changes, but no TPIS pressure changes. I wonder if, and how, TPIS would compensate for altitude change. From my low, starting point, at 2700' to my high of 8800' there should have been about a 2 psi increase just from ambient pressure change, but I never saw it.
