That's gotta be frustrating Tom. Is the dealership you frequent savvy with these trucks? The two dealerships closest to me don't carry any diesels on the lot and don't have any experienced diesel techs (SM words). I don't like donating my truck for someone to get a working education so I have to drive over an hour each way for any work that may need done, recalls, etc.

I hope someone is able to sort this mess out for you.

Does anyone know what their height to top back corner of bed is in ALT. Mine is 55”.

reason for this measurement is to help determine if a 5er may need hitch or RV axle adjustment to tow level with at least 6” bed clearance.

Yes, both dealers sell tons of them. The second dealer is 1.5 hrs away, and has a very experienced diesel tech. And yes it is frustrating and disappointing.

I added a measurement to my earlier post.

I sit higher with an empty bed (150lbs) in transport than I do loaded in ALT.

It explains why my ALT and NORM ride heights are the same when empty, I simply don't have enough payload to need more than minimum pressure in the bags.

Mine is right around 56", but the payload type will cause a small variance.

Based on OEM tire size differences the SRW's should sit about .75" higher.

Tom, you might get courageous and adjust the rod that senses hight. At a minimum check the measurement between the two and see if their at different lengths. If you do change the length, make sure there is no tamper seal.
