Check engine code P0111. Iat sensor. Replaced sensor with new molar sensor. My edge CST says temp is reading correct at start up. Soon as I start to drive cold air temp drop 10-20 degrees. I live in California so it not that cold or humid. If it’s 70 degrees out the sensor will be reading like 58-54 degrees. The engine light will turn off with a code reader but comes back on after a few starts. Any one have this issue before?

Which is the reference sensor for the IAT?
There must be one, otherwise the ECM wouldn't throw that code.
So maybe your reference is the real issue.

There must be another sensor that has a temperature reading, otherwise the ECM wouldn't say the IAT is off with only that input.

The ECM only does an accuracy test at startup after 480 minutes of engine off when ambient temp is above 38°F. It compares the IAT, coolant, and ambient temp sensor.

Just to confirm, you replaced the pre-turbo sensor?

Are you sure the IAT you are monitoring on the CTS is the pre-turbo sensor? I've seen it labeled as IAT and AAT.

Unplugged AAT sensor overhead console says 130.
Started truck CTS gauge says 73. That’s the current temp according to my Apple Watch. Temp dropped from 73 down to 63-64

What year and model truck are we talking about?

The IAT will be in the Intake Cover just behind the Intake Horn and Heater Grids.

The ENGINE AAT Sensor is between the Air Box and the Turbo. The one for your OH Display is on the hood.

The code shows a 2 wire connector, that’s the inlet air temp pre turbo on a 3rd gen 5.9.

No. It’s the IAT sensor. This is confirmed by geno’s and internet research. The AAT sensor is right behind the grill driver’s side
