I have a 18' 2500 gasser. Would like a deckover, found this 20' local. It looks pretty good, dry weight looks good for what I need to haul.

No experience with a full tilt, how are these for loading figure would need a winch set up.

NICE trailer. I don't see any why you wouldn't be able to drive right up on to it at full tilt.

Can I ask you you to ballpark how much they are asking for it ??

Looks like $8675. Just going by their price sheet online.

I bought a 7x14 enclosed from same place in 2019, so maybe a few bucks less for being a repeat or not.

Yeah nice family owned business, this would be my 3rd trailer from them, they are really down to.earth, they can beat etrailer on the smalls and accessories in the show room, they also do modifications and repairs.

If I could drive up on it that would be good.

Could do a winch deal later then.

What brand is it?
I love my tilt deck and won't own anything else. They are not for everyone but it suits my needs well.
I built a head ache rack to mount my hitch mounted winch. I didn't like the idea of mounting it to the deck.
The only thing I see maybe questionable from the pics is the spacing on the stringers, tilt decks tend to flex a little more than a standard trailer. Looks like a nice unit overall.

Looks like a Cam Superline trailer. I would do some research, they are not all created equal. Price might be a little high. 14k PJ is about $7k, 14K Diamond C is about $8k. The Cam appears to have a short hitch to axles. Sometimes that can cause weight placement issues. Overall looks to be a fine trailer. Cam uses both Dexter or Lippert axles...

I will see if I can get some dimensions for those measurements.

Another brand that pops up is Belmont they seem to have a nice unit, it's really hard to sort thru the facts and marketing info.

I did some research on the Brand, they are pretty local to me, got bought out in 2017 they are owned by another company Novae now that has a bunch of other lines and they have continued to buy up places some new ones are not listed on their site yet.

PJ has a nice comparison page, easy to get a list of issues, some of these are included in the CAM stuff I can find online.

So will likely make a short list and ask some questions, do a phone call with them.

Some of these make a difference depending on what's going in/on them.

My small enclosed I have a lot of nice options 12" OC supports, built in rear ramp, with a flip down plate for the hinge area. Has better tires and will be surprised have not seen to many that are not NATM certified, but all good points.

I was hoping to use this for some small switchboard sections as well.

These are typically 38w x 58d x 95h, anywhere from 1250 to 1950 per section.

easy loading...check
bust your you know what when its raining...check
I would definitely put some non skid down where you would be exiting whatever vehicle your loading.

Yeah one time I was visiting west WI, and we went down the Mississippi River, I walked down a boat ramp wanted to see how cold the water was and hit that green slick stuff and got more then what I wanted as far, didn't fall all the way in, but was quite the surprise.

Priceless. Bet you never do that again.

Pic of my headache rack add on. Height of the rack coincides with the angle of the deck when tilted. I've pulled some serious dead weight with this set up. More efficient (I think) than in OE form. This was all winched up.

been social distancing on this trailer gig, I.sent them an email with some questions over the weekend, so giving them a day or so to reply.

Got the side of the garage prepped at least, had landscaper put down some weed guard and QP, then my BIL came over and worked it with a small compactor. I hope I can fit both the enclosed and the new over over here.

13' x 45', I only had the enclosed when I set this up to be put in.

But getting there.....

So finally got to move my 14' enclosed and take some final measurements. Have 25.5' so that's good news. Fits in there nice.

I had been checking the trailer places inventory but I was not calling them, turns out that the online list that is actually a interactive Google Sheets was not up to date and the one was gone that I was looking at.

I did a bunch of research and the PJ is a great trailer, I can't seem to find the difference now off hand but the CAM compared to the Diamond C for some reason more then the CAM did to the PJ which is why the prices were a lot higher for the Diamond C and CAM vs the PJ. There was a very large gap between these, wish I remembered exactly what the difference was..

Since this place is local (6 miles from my shop), family operated and I have bought 2 other trailers from them I stuck with the local place, they were $200 more the the Diamond C, but then I added a winch plate for another $200 and they threw in a spare tire.

But its 8 weeks, which is fine, it also now a 22' not a 20' like above, went a little longer. Might be faster who knows, could be longer.

I did not get this to move big trucks but I took some measurement anyway of my 96 and 18 2500's and I think they would fit nicely on a 22', I know payload is covered, tongue weight at 20' you have no room it's tight but works, my 18 2500 is almost 20' with the lift gate hanging off the back.

Don't know if anyone has pulled with one of these like that, would it be too much tounge weight? I read some very conflicting stuff, but in a pinch would be nice to know opinions. I don't think I would ever long haul anything that big for very long.

From the bumper to the center of the rear axle was like 18-1/2' if I recall. I know I'm at like 7k empty +/-.

Guess next time I should make the call before I wait a few months.

It was dark last night by the time I got it all backed in finally.

My tilt deck is 22ft 14k GVW. One option is loading the truck backwards. It really all depends on axle placement and over all length of tongue. If your covered on the GVW and width you'll just have to play around with stuff like that, but in a pinch you can make almost anything work.

Thanks, that's kinda why I was a little happy the 20' was gone and the 22' looked a little more flexible.

Did not think about the backwards, this is like a worse case deal too for that, most stuff I'm using it for is a lot shorter and lighter.

So just a little update, got a call today turns out the 22' has some known issues so they want to do a 4' flat with a 20' tilt.

Total of now 24', we had a 8.5x24 enclosed many years ago so should be OK, bigger then I really need.

They came up with the same comments about the wheel to tounge distance and the long tilt becomes too high.

I'm still moving ahead even though turning that around in my driveway is going to be tight unless someone can share some tricks before hand.
