We have a winner.....Yes HO motor and aisin transmission. I love that transmission for a lot of reasons. I was going to go 410 and then I didn't because I will never tow more than 10K behind it and prob never over 8k to be truthful. I still have my 18 5500 with 488 for heavy towing but those days are over.
(I think)

I also still have my new ARE cap from the last ordered truck( I didn't take it) I will need to have it painted black to match. I did hear about people wrapping it. Not sure how that works and I don't know anyone doing it. Prob just get it painted.

I've seen a couple toppers wrapped but they didn't match. I don't think they can match factory colors so I would say painting is you best bet. Will be a nice truck for sure!

Don't wrap it, after a couple years it turns very ugly and then you have big problems to get that sun burnt in foil of the Truck.
Paint is the way to go, even if costs a couple Dollars.

I am at 6 weeks and 5 days since I ordered. I was told this morning the truck has not been built yet. I told them to forget it and I would order a 5500. They told me, they couldn't stop the build. I said one email should stop it. Either way I said I didn't want it but I would order a 5500 today.
They said they would get back to me.

They only started building the 2021s a couple of weeks ago. Like the previous poster said, I think Covid screwed up the 2020/2021 scheduling.

I ordered my 19' 3500 MC on July 6th 2019.... Took delivery Nov 24th 2019. I would have had it mid October but it had the brake caliper recall the moment it arrived on the dealer lot.... Which took near a month for FCA to get the replacement front calipers set and brake lines. It's about 3 months from order till delivery.

So I'm still waiting and wondering. Dealership called and said it's on the way. I kind of decided I wanted to go 5500 but I'll wait to see the truck.
I ordered Oct 21

Sounds about right time frame wise for a special order... Is it on the rails or at the depot? They can tell you exactly where it's at.

You can call FCA customer care and give them the order number and they can track it, but they are often behind on their info. When my truck landed at the dealer they still showed it in Mexico.
And, FCA is not alone in ordering taking excessively long times. I went and test drove a new F250 a couple of months ago, and when I asked about ordering they told me I would be looking at 3 months or more.
Covid has really screwed all the manufacturers up as many of their suppliers are still playing catch up as well.
And, if your order included any accessory parts like side steps, or bedliners or any add-ons like that, those are all done outside the factory and add extra wait times to the order.

I called, it's, and I quote" on a truck" That was the best they could do. Expected delivery Mar 5th. That is one slow truck. LOL

Well!!!! Today the GM calls me and asked if I wanted the truck. I said whats up? He has a chance to trade it when it comes in to another dealer and he can choose 4 trucks from that dealer. Of course they both have to pay for them I said you owe me, go ahead. So I let the truck go and ordered a 5500 today.

Yeah, but how long will it take the new order to come in?

And, you know the 4500-5500 don't get the HO engine, as a matter of fact they get reduced output engines.
