Despite you're appearant lack of empathy here
I did not say a lack of empathy. I asked my aunt how she was doing in TX as they have a windmill pumping their water. I also asked my buddy how his family was doing in Texas.
I am saying that Texas is being targeted by the media mob and singled out for not being part of the feds on their grid. Other places were hit as well including Mexico. Yeah, I feel bad for everyone and the expensive damage done to pipes etc. Texas isn't doing anything "bad" that makes them deserve the Special Nasty Treatment compared to other places I already pointed out. The rare storm for the area is news.
Now I will say people had better figure out how to deal with lack of electric power... Discussions on FB are already going on about it from this storm. The bad news is others already figured some of it out so good luck getting a home standby generator as they have been in very short supply awhile now. For reference a turnkey 20KW home standby generator is around $15,000.00 installed. Less if you have NG and don't have to get propane tanks.
If you want to call me "Numb" to power outages it's because they are simply SSDD to me anymore. I already have several years worth of power bills laid out in generators just to run 14 hours or more a year in AZ. My major heartburn is if the sandstorm before the storm will sandblast the insulation off the generator's windings ruining it. (My California experience wore a generator out. CA is especially bad...)
