No worries, that would have been awesome if it would have worked.Sorry that didn't work. Will continue to follow this though

I found the problem...

I do know, this one is under warranty and does not require calibration. The turbo is fine, so at least I’ve got that going for me!!If you don't know, you can replace that yourself and use AlfaOBD to calibrate the new one. Provided the turbo is ok and free.

So, components on the board were shorting out against the gear cover?I found the problem...

Or buy the one from City Diesel for around $875 and just slap it in with no programming needed.

Hmm...
You'd think that would be insulated so it wouldn't be possible.
You'd also think that would post a code.
Looking at it up close, I don’t think it touched the cover. I think that’s just from the flash over from something shorting out.So, components on the board were shorting out against the gear cover?

I’ll probably have to return it to City Diesel as it’s still under warranty. If they don’t want it back, I will ship it to you. I’m not sure if there is insulation between the bottom of the board and the aluminum half it’s attached to, but there is no insulation between the top side of the board and the aluminum half it get married to.Tramplineman What are you going to do with that circuit board? My brother would like to analyze it . He is an electrical design engineer, I'll pay for shipping . I told him of all the failures. Was there any insulation between bottom of board and the aluminum ?

Yes, they have a two year warranty and I believe I installed this last fall.interesting!
Is it still under their warranty?
Well, it does at least look like it arced to the cover.I would say the components blew on the board and arced/blew smoke and slag on the cover.

Looks like some stripped gear teeth too. Might have been some sort of binding to cause it to "blow".
We kinda thought that too, maybe the binding of the gears caused overheating of the board? When it was on the truck you couldn’t tell anything was wrong by looking at it. As soon as I broke the seal between the two halves you could immediately smell that an electrical fire had occurred.Looks like some stripped gear teeth too. Might have been some sort of binding to cause it to "blow".
Maybe metal fragments from the stripped gear teeth shorted out the circuit card?
This is very possible.Maybe metal fragments from the stripped gear teeth shorted out the circuit card?
