Spare tire conundrum

It is my understanding that Ram has only started building the 22s very recently. My dealer informed me that 2022 1500s that were ordered end of August were reflecting ship dates of 10/22, roughly 8 weeks after ordering. I found this encouraging. He remarked that it seems that Ram is getting the 22s out the door more efficiently, but also said that the 2500s (ie NOHOs!) and 3500s will likely take longer to build. We ordered 9/23, so I will not be looking for them sooner that year-end. Meanwhile, my mind wanders to trailers. Tired of borrowing a trailer. First Husband will be surprised that I got him a 5th wheel in his new rig. My thinking on all of this was to buy the full monty of what the rig is capable of doing. He is a New Yorker, so he loves to boast. Now he can! Nice, Danny!

No activity on my carpenter's 6.4L HEMI. Nearly 800 people have looked at it on ebay, but no inquiries. Hope we can sell it by the time his new rig shows up. I think it is priced fairly--very fairly given the brand new $10K ATS transmission rebuild, not to mention the motherload of extras he has put on it. But, it is not a diesel, and it is single cab. I would like to throw my line into other ponds, but don't know where else to fish other than ebay, facebook marketplace and Craigslist. Suggestions appreciated.

In talking to dealers the Aisin’s were taking the longest to build, but things changes quickly right now.

You will also find that extras and add-on do very little for used value. For example my $900 OEM wheel to wheel steps add a whopping $50 to the used value.

Well, my boys don't need to get everything they want right now right this minute. The anticipation is part of the pleasure of this journey. They are spoiled rotten--FH and CC. Just this weekend, had to move my large power tools from my wood shop--big cabinet saw, jointer, planer, dust collector. Carpenter normall whines and cries, but I knocked him off his whinging block with a COVID booster yesterday morning, then wooped his XXXXXX moving the large power tools. Actually, FH figured it all out with the use of a Horrible Frieght lift and backed his NOHO under the tools. Anyway, I do not like to ask CC to give me attention on the weekend (he lives with us in my former office), so in exchange for his time, I bought him a nice tool box for the Automotive Division tools, etc. Nice boss, or what??? Spoiled, I tell you what!

When I sold my 05 I thought about eBay but didn’t bother because of their fees. I ended up selling my 05 and dads 06 on Craigslist.

Got a link to the add?

Since I don’t have a first wife buying my truck, I ordered the truck the end of February it arrived at the dealer 12 weeks later. At that time, and I think still holds true the factory is only working two shifts instead of the normal three. I don’t think any one part is holding up the builds as the born on date of my motor was was fourteen days before the truck was loaded on the train in Mexico. The whole manufacturing process has been delayed because of business working less hours. I figured an extra four to receive my truck was pretty good all the rest took eight weeks. My truck is a 4500 base Laramie so nothing special.

My son inquired a couple days ago about ordering a new 2022 Limited 3500, they said plan on six months to get it .

New truck ordered in May was supposed to be here tomorrow. Called dealer this am. Delivery November 8 th. No real prices. Nobody knows anything. They have a vin number. Pretty scary times how much am I paying for this new truck. One wonders. Thoughts please

Ordered a '22 Larmie without sunroof on Aug. 12th, got a vin# three days later. Dealer says all that means is they accepted the order as he sent it in. He thought at the time it would be 12-16 weeks. This morning I found the customer service chat line, gave him the von & vin, he said they are still accumullating parts for the build, but had no further info. I really don't expect it till after the first of the year, the '14 & '17 I had were ordered about the same time of the year, but they came in around Thanksgiving.

I got an update on my 2022 Ram order yesterday. I ordered the Ram Laramie diesel longbed dually with all the safety bells and whistles and 12" screen on 7/27. It shipped from Mexico this week. He had no info on ETA. But at least after 3 months it's built and moving!

I got this from the chat line this morining, "Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your order is in the scheduling phase of the manufacturing process. The parts required to build the vehicle are being scheduled and as soon as they available and ready, order will be scheduled for build". In otherwords, NO CHIPS ! (im guessing). I ordered August 12th, and never really thought it would be here before new years anyway. So, I guess I'll put off the new truck owners expenses till next year !
