Ah, but it did. It most CERTAINLY did, and continues to, come off that way.
Big papap
Wasn't supposed to come off that way. Was supposed to be, "let's show what vp can do".
Since the cry babies are rambling on I'll post this. This is a industrial Injection gorilla girdle 12mm. Came with all hardware, studs, nuts, washers, spacers clean Fit. For those who don't know, 03- to present common rails are girdled factory. Fit really good besides rounding some holes for oil pan bolts. Nothing on crank caps needed it just a few oil pan bolts did. Not a big deal to me. Think about it, you torquing your crank bearings cap studs to 150+ lbs or so, not gonna affect oil pan bolts 12" away and it's billet aluminum. Also did big iron stamped oil pan fits perfect.

oes not affect post torque. I did it because peace of mind, no block flex in lower end means no cracked cylinder walls top or bottom, and no cracked block leaks with coolant into oil or vise versa. Worth every penny.

Little back story here, new member and see lots of bs about hot rods not being reliable or able to tow with is bs.

New here but seen lots of bs on what people think they know about 24 valves and building them but don't know ****

This pretty much set the stage for this thread. If you are not talking about us (TDR Members) who are you talking about?

The title is hot rod vp44 myths, was suppose to be about just that, nothing else, to prove it can be done with legit results and how to do it.

You mentioned "tow" and "24 valves" so I responded. Oops, my bad, I don't have a Hot Rod VP nor am I in the market for one. You are talking about a 20+ year old truck. You are about 20 years too late.

You have clearly went beyond just a hot rod vp pump in your thread, so I will respond again. You posted in the "Competition & Off Road forum so I assume that is part of your plan. I recommend you ditch the window screen air filter, they don't lend themselves very well off road, in the dirt. I am not a fan of a 6" lifted truck for towing purposes, they are too tall for goosenecks or fifth wheels.

NV4500, again, not a good choice for big power towing or sled pulling. This is a picture of one of my customers 4500/3rd gear. Boosted launch in 4x4. Sled pulling and towing is about the whole package, not just Hot Rod VP's.

Listen to this guy the guru apparently
Not even a guru, just been there, done that! We were all out in Indy for the extravaganza one year, (2007 if my memory serves correctly..) me in my p pump truck, a buddy with a hot rod VP. We went a exit out past terre haute for fuel. There’s a straight away about 5 miles long my buddy egged me on. We were neck and neck until he hit his speed limiter. P pump with 5k springs, well they don’t really have a speed governor. I waved as I pulled away from him. Next week he was on the phone with scheid getting his kit.

After reading from beginning to now I realize I did come off hostile and did not mean to at all. The people I'm talking about in that first post are the ones saying you can't build one that's does it all reliably. Are the same people who haven't owned or built one before. As for the p pump I know they run great, but this build was for the challenge, and did not want mechanical, wanted to stay true to original injection pump. I don't need to go over a 100mph, those days are behind me, just want to be fast to that 100mph. Different strokes for different folks. As for the 5 speed not being a good trans, I strongly disagree. For what it is and how it's built it's a pretty tough trans pound for pound. I was on the ban wagon to put a nv5600 in mine, had a 4x4 nv5600 that was blown up from a friend that owns a great train rebuild shop. after I priced some tooling that was needed for pressing components, (miller tool is who made the tooling and nearly Impossible to find tooling these days) and scarcity of oem new venture parts, mostly Chinese garbage for them anymore, was not worth it to me. Is one more gear really worth it? Not to me it's not after discovering what I mentioned above, with that said I have grenaded this trans already once, bought oem updated main shaft from torque king 4x4, great place a few hours from me. It was about 2k for what I bought I think was called the gold kit. Not pictured is the brand new full spline main shaft, which I thought I had a picture of but dont. Picture of top shift rail/fork cover here, mine was worn out in the rails shifted poorly and would "jump" out of shift rail, not really a way to fix that . Probably associated with when I blew it up.. speed shifting, shockloading, so many factors can ruin a trans regardless how tough you think it is.

Since we are on the subject of power train, I also installed Yukon axle shafts in rear, and front with cad delete. Bought a dynatrac free spin hub kit from them as well. Worth every penny, good installation and fit perfectly, also used mile marker hubs, so far has been great in the last 3 years.

As for the opinin with lift kits, bla bla whatever. I lifted this truck I also bought a high angle, bigger drive shaft kit from them as well, bigger u joints, cardian joint, which also comes with a new crush washer, nut, seal, yoke, and straps. Drive line was unfinished so had to measure it and weld it, then had a friend at a machine shop balance it out And painted it. Another must for a lifted truck.

LOL. It won't be long before the OP is kicked off this site like he has been on every other site he's been on. It's funny how he changed his attitude once admin chimed in. Good riddance.

Edit: Assumed the OP was a male/man in my response. Don't want to be sexist, it could be a little girl. Not trying to hurt any feelings. Sorry.

Didn't even see the admin post until you commented that and scrolled up and read it a few minutes ago. Also never had social media or been part of any forum, found this one because I bought lots of stuff from Geno's and they mentioned this with a flyer everytime parts showed up, wife thought maybe it would be good for me, and joined. Don't really care what you think. I owned up to being hostile coming off that way when I didn't mean to, didn't deny it did I? I said some stuff that I didn't really describe that well with what I meant with being said, which was taken in the way it was in my first post, I get that reading it again. Owned it, and said I was wrong.

Been a member here since 04 and have never replied negatively towards anybody. I couldn't take anymore of you're comments against members that have decades of knowledge and experience on this site. The disrespect in your first.posts didn't sit well with members that wanted to participate with your topic. I hope the original intended post ends up being a good discussion.

Well I did say that I was leaving this thread, and prolly still will o_O, but first I gotta say that I AM in fact impressed with how the OP not only "changed his tune" but much more importanty admitted some culpability for being misunderstood in his first post.

That said, your statement above is NOT helping the situation or anybody on this forum !!!

Just a "crybaby" speaking his mind ... even though I dont get paid enough for this !!!

Owned it all, and here you, are still trying to get me axed or fired up imagine that.
Also seafish didn't realize you weren't talking about me, I apologize I posted this before I seen above posts posted

No sir,
My intention was to stand up for the members that were being critized in this thread. Looks like I went about it the wrong and for that I apologize to anyone offended.

The best I can count you bowed out in post #16 like some kind of sissy, so stay out.
Real tough guy, I recommend Dust Off for the keyboard, 12.99 at nearest home Depot. I get coming at me but seafish has not been a d@#$ or acted like I did in my first posts. Also seafish I took most of culpability and admitted it, still will.
