There are some questions on if the pipes are Stainless or Aluminumized Steel
There is one review in that link that says the product listing is confusing, the Muffler is Stainless and the tip is polished but the pipes may not be.
The MFG web site was not much help.
Some other vendors list it as an "OR" it's Aluminumized or Stainless
Then they list the color as Aluminumized.
Since your looking for Stainless, you might want to really track that down.
I just ordered the 39461 from Jegs for $527.86 including free shipping and tax. Ships July 5th.After a lot of tedious research, I found that The Dynomax Ultra Flow 39461 is ALL STAINLESS, muffler and pipes. The Dynomax Ultra Flow 19461is NOT ALL STAINLESS - the muffler is the same stainless, but the pipes are aluminized steel.
There is only about $50 difference between the two.
Prices for the 39461 range from $477.79 at Rock Auto to over $600 at Summit. Some places are even more!
I definitely will. Please tell how it sounds once fitted.
The manufacturer's description makes me think it will be loud:I just ordered the 39461 from Jegs for $527.86 including free shipping and tax. Ships July 5th.
This description proved to be wrong. It's not a straight through muffler. I even wrote to Dynomax and they said the baffled design was a better design for our Cummins trucks. The manufacturer's description makes me think it will be loud:
The unrestricted, straight-through design dyno proven to flow up to 2,000 SCFM and support up to 2,000 horsepower. Each muffler uses our exclusive Continuous Roving Fiberglass (CRF) Technology to absorb unwanted interior resonance while maintaining a deep performance tone. The 'Pure Unadulterated POWER' of DynoMax® Ultra Flo™ Welded mufflers are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty and exclusive 90-Day Performance & Sound Guarantee™.Particularly the "unrestricted, straight through" and "Sound Guarantee" parts. But at least you've got 90 days to acclimate to it.
