If you bought a 2004 3500 DRW 4x4 at auction in 2024, I'd like to visit with you. It's not anything bad, just trying to make a connection. Truck looks like this:

That's basically my intent. The truck was sort of "assigned" to me for 14 years. It was a Tradesman level and came without power towing mirrors. We did a shop retrofit to the Cipa mirrors shown in the image, using a hybrid of the 1996 and 2004 wiring setup. We did it that way because a factory style refit would have cost north of $2500. The hybrid mirror circuit is completely separate from the truck's wiring harness. It uses a fused circuit directly from the battery. There were a few other mods that I have records for.

That picture dates to about 2015 and was, I think, during a mine project. A couple of years earlier, we chucked a winch into the hitch receiver and used it as a mine hoist for an underground project. I can document two occasions where the truck's handling capabilities actually saved my life.
