What's more interesting is the torque yield goes down a lot per every degree.

I have a nifty booklet in my shop that came with one my PTO driveshafts for my tractor that goes into the technical details of this, along with for every degree beyond zero, the hours are diminished on the u-joints.

Neat to see it in action at zero degrees and to see the deflection in a controlled environment.

And that’s why we have torque management.

6000 ft/lbs sounds like a lot, but let’s say your in 1st gear and 4 Low… that’s only 606 ft/lbs at the engine without any torque converter multiplication.

I think you left a digit out of your calculation but I do understand what you are driving at.

Which digit was left out?

606 x 3.75 (AS69RC 1st) = 2272.5
2272.5 x 2.64 (low range) = 5999.4

lets put it this way, you can read your first post several ways, and I took it as you saying 600.. that or you edited the comment to get that extra zero in there..

but what you are driving at is exactly true, engine output times effective gear ratio times final drive ratio equals alot :)

No edits on my end. You can see that your quote matches the original post, and no edit stamp.

I know that... t
@Grumpy8811, What you're missing in @AH64ID post, is that he says;

He's not adding in what than happens when you take that engine torque and run it through the trans!

I know that... torque multiplication in the converter can be four to five times what the input torque is. then throw in first range and if in 4W low as well as diff gearing, it adds up to a whopping amount of torque.
