I followed that link last night and ordered an OE cab clearance lamp housing. Been looking for one for a while since one of mine is cracked. Got an E-mail message today that said my order was cancelled; the part is discontinued. Bummer.

My buddy's 93 still has the sticker under the hood. It says 38oz. for the diesel engine.

That sounds more correcter. I remember that my 91 gasser had the factory sticker on the fan shroud which gave two different capacities for gas and diesel engines (44/38oz.). But my 93 diesel doesn't have any label under the hood and I can't find anywhere that the 93 factory service manual makes...

My 93 FSM says 44oz. of R12 is max capacity, and that charging pressure should be kept below 50psi.

I had considered doing that too. Still working on making a socket that will just slip on, for now. What about bleeding the system? Is that necessary after pulling the solenoid?

That didn't work either. I'll have to try something else. When I finally do get it to open up, am going to have to bleed air out of the pump/high pressure lines?
