I agree with you, Carl. Another option is a Lincoln Town Car. My wife drives one, and they really work.

I'm not sure about the steering box, but are you sure it is not the linkage? You may want to crawl under the truck and have someone move the steerting wheel side to side while you look. I was surprised to see how much my track bar was moving.

In looking at many of the other messages regarding Lukes Link, it may fix your wandering. You may want to spend the time and check the boards. I put one on my 97 two weeks ago because of uneven tire wearing. So far, so good.
