I see a guy in N. Texas has posted on DTR that his 235-80-17R has seperated. The interesting thing is that he states that that size -THE ONLY SIZE - is backordered and he can't find any in that area.
This truck has been in production over one year and there are still no tires out there other than Goodyear - if you can find them - at an inflated price. :--)
Is there any interest here from you '03 dually owners in a formal, united protest to DC and Goodyear? Or, are you content with the monopolistic situation?
There numbers really aren't there yet to justify another tire company in making the molds, testing, etc and pumping out tires.
Do you folk understand there is only one tire available?
You don't have to go to a different wheel size to improve brake function. However, you would require the services of a competent engineer.
If Ford and Chev don't go to a 17" wheel, Dodge dually owners are screwed. :--)
What are you gonna do when you pop two on the same trip?
Ah, well, that's life.
