Happy Birthday, Deezul1!

Need Car Moved, anyone interested?

Unbeliveable! One of the guys at work who is gettng ready to retire in a year or so, bought a brand new 04 Ford 4 x 2 1/2 ton.

So being in New England, he buys 2 extra rims with the truck so he can put studded snows on them and be ready for winter driving.....

But guess what? He can't find a snow tire anywhere. I even looked on the i net today and nothing.

His stock tires are 235/70-17.

Needless to say this guy is really ticked... . he called Ford and asked them how they can sell a truck in New England that you can't buy snow tires for!!

Of course no answer back.

One of the tire shops is getting him some tires that are close to stock size, and they'll work I'm sure, but he still wants all the tires to match in size.

Reason I found out is that I know he has a mint 88 Dodge D150

on that probably has under 50 K on it... . his weekend truck... been garaged all the time... . he'll be ready to sell as soon as he has his new truck set up for winter driving.

the new fords have 17" dually rims like the dodge now? wow. and there still is no dually winter tires avalable for the dodge so you are pretty much out of luck eh... i don't think there will ever be a big demand for winter rubber in the 235/70/17 size. in the 265/70/17 yes, but ... . that sucks... now ford is real smart eh. they go to 17" like dodge, and they kept that 8x170mm oddball bolt pattern

I'd say give it some time. There will likely be tires available soon enough. I bought a new horse trailer in 2002 that came with 235/80/16. That's right 80, not 85. I had to argue with tire shop after tire shop, till I talked to a guy that had enough sense to look in the books and sure enough badyear was the only company that made that tire. The reason for all the searching was the trailer came with a spare rim, but no tire. Badyear wanted $150 for the tire. I wasn't going to spend that for a spare that would rot off before I ever got to use it. I ended up buying a used 235/85/16 for $10. It's only an inch or so taller, but it'll get me to a tire shop when I need it. Good luck. :)
