'04 Ram. Does anyone make cheap 17" stamped steel wheels?

I bought a new 04 4X4 cummins Dodge. Love it! But I wanted to get a set of 4 studded snow tires mounted on some cheap wheels that I could run on the truck during the studded tire season. I don't know how many salvage yards I've called (truck is too new- don't have any 17" rims at all) or wheel places (Don't make any yet, tooling aint set). So I've got to ask... Has anyone found any 17" wheels that fit? I've called the dealer, and the cheapest wheel they've got is the spare tire rim @ $157 each. I've thought of trying to mount the 16" wheels, but the chrysler part guy says they won't clear the rear disk brake caliper. I think he may be right. Help!-----Steve

16" won't fit the 3rd gen trucks. there is someone over in the 3rd gen forums that has a connection to get take off wheels for a good price [like $90 for aluminum, $70 chrome] do a search for chrome take off wheels in the 3rd gen forums to find it.



also, check out ebay. they have takeoff chrome and aluminum wheels avalable at times [none in canada though otherwise i'd have a second set of alum/steels for dedicated winter tires]

yep,

i can get aluminum 17''factory takeoffs [new] from a place in idaho. i can get em for 70 bucks each. the alum is available now. lemme know if ya want me to arange shipping

gentlemen, thanks for the help. Muddymess, can you hook me up with a telelphone or E-mail address? I need to start moving on this before the snow gets knee-high. 17" eight lug wheels. There aren't any in the salvage yards where I'm at in mid-Missouri. appreciate the help gents. -Steve
