OK... Newbie here... been reading for a long time... but finally pulled the trigger and got the truck in my sig... and now am a subscriber.

Here is my question.

I bought an early 2006 QC Sport... window sticker says that it should have the fold flat floor option (part of the sport package)... but this truck does not. I wonder if the dealer "removed" this item and put it on another truck.

I mentioned it to the salesman that this truck did not have the floor option... . and did not notice that it was part of the package. He said that they had priced it out one time to "put one in" and it was like $1000 just for all the parts.

I was not up on all the features of the sport... I was just looking for SLT wit the 6 speed... and this truick was the only long bed 6 speed 3500 they had left.

I figured I'd ask here first that if indeed the floor CAME with the early 06 sports beforeI called the dealership and gave them hell. I already had a run in with their service gal. Did NOT impress me at all... and that was to just get a new key cut and check for any "fixes" like the rear u joint and fuel tank issue.

I was thinking of going to another dealer and having them run the VIN and pull a build sheet... . is this possible?

Thanks in advance

Does the sticker spec say "fold flat floor"? If so, I cant see how it couldn't/shouldn't bee there. This is one of the reasons the gov. mandaded window stickers, so the customer knew exactly what they were getting. If its not there, give'm hell.

Friend of mine bought a truck, and then had one of the lot monkeys "do him a favor" and swapped the base rims for the SLT rims of one of the trucks that was on the lot...

If it's on the window sticker, and not on the truck, give it to 'em.

A build sheet is 100% possible. Don't even bother doing it at another dealer. If they won't do it there, what does that tell you?

It is listed on the sticker under "sport package"

Reason taht I ask about a mid year change is that they sport package now comes with Sirius... but this truck does not have it listed... .

Humm... this dealer JUST got their 5 Star service rating... we'll see how well they cover their butts!

If you have an "early truck" it also has an "early sticker", if the sticker list "fold flat floor", it should be in there. If it was indeed left off the truck (and the dealer did not remove it) it don't cost the dealer anything, dodge pays for it.

If the dealer removed it, I would expect to see a screw hole left where there was a snap that the elastic straps that hold the floor down (when closed) snap on. Lift the DS (or PS) seat, there is a plastic "bin" under the seat. On the forward outside edge, over somewhere near the corner would be a snap.

I received my 06 last September. It came with the Sound and Security package, which included Sirius.

I don't know about the Sport package, but the floor is optional on the SLT. Check with the brochure. I have an 06 brochure at home from Sept 05. I'll try to remember to check that.

As mentioned above, when it shows what package you have the list also shows what is in the package. If the floor is on your build list, you should have the floor.

Just got off the phone with the dealer... he checked with the "order" guy and that guy says there is a NEW sticker for my truck that came... that they did NOT put on... that shows that the floor was NOT part of the package.

They are now checking on it... seeing what they "can do" since they already sold me the truck. Supposedly they are talking with some regional guy.

As mentioned earlier... this is an august 05 build for an 06 truck... . and i bought it 2 weeks ago... I told them. . "strange that you have had a new window sticker for 7 months and never put it on. "

We'll see what happens... they are supposed to call me back.

So... any dealers out there know if the floor option CAME with the early 06 sport package???

fold flat floor

if the foldflatfloor was on the sticker, it should have price reflecting what it or the package containing it cost, which means if it does you have paid for the option , and if it were me I would be getting it installed gratus,, mine is an 05 and the flor was an option which I definately wanted and if memories serves me correctly it cost either 100 or 150 for the option, money well spent or maybe in your case not,, if it's on the sticker from which you purchased the truck I would hold them to it .

Went out for lunch and looked at the seat in the back... . YES there is a snap on the fromt of the "bin" on the drivers rear. :(

Sounds like the dealer is trying to pull a fast one... I will let them try and take care of this before I "throw them under the bus". I believe that they will make this right... with little hassle... they know that I work on air for one of the big stations in town... and they do a TON of advertising with us. Pretty easy for me to "let it slip" that I'm having a problem with my new 40K truck!

To Ksears... as I mentioned in my earlier posts... the SPORT package shows that the floor comes with the package... just like the "ford explorer like" turn the dial to get to 4x4 and all the other goodies. You are correct... they charge 100 for the option if you get SLT package... mines is supposed to have it.

I think that that it is bogus that they would say there was a "new" sticker that was supposed to be on the truck... that removed the floor from the package.

Don't know about the '06's but the 03's came with a snap for the fold flat floor even if you never opted for the floor.

The snap is there even if it's not included. My SLT didn't come w/ the fold flats but the snaps were there. I then bought the fold flats off ebay for a little over $100. Hope it works out w/ your dealer.

Well... Just got off the phone with Dodge... and had them pull the build sheet for the truck. The gal on the phone says that the Fold Flat Floor was NOT optioned for this truck.

So... that means that the dealer for 7 months forgot to install the new sticker on the window. Humm. I still find it strange that someone would forget to do that. That dang thing is like the size of a dinner table place mat... .

The gal from Dodge is going to send me a copy of the build sheet too... real nice lady... gotta love that younger southern accent!!! :D

The dealer has not called me back yet... I'm sure I will hear from them today.

I did look on ebay... there is a fold flat floor on there going for 175 as we speak.

Thanks for all you help and suggestions. will follow up when I hear from the dealer.

Jim

I ordered my 06 Sport in July and took delivery in Aug and it was supposed to have the fold flat but didn't when it came in, when I told them it was part of the Sport package for 06 they told me they would check, about an hour latter they called back and said I was right and would have Dodge send one to the Dealership where they installed it no charge.

In fact right on my window sticker it reads fold flat rear seat as part of the Sport package, make them install it for you at Dodge's expense!

I agree 100%!!

Not your fault they didn't put the sticker in the window!! You bought it with the original sticker. Sounds like another example of DC trying to take ANOTHER option away. ie under hood insul, under hood light, wheel well liners, ect.

Whats the worst they can say? Hold them to it!

JRG

You bought it as described on the sticker

As I recall, standing next to you on the dealer's lot when you were reading the sticker, the fold flat floor was the deciding factor in choosing to buy the truck. . ..... uh, just so we get it right, where were we again ? :D :D

Jim there was a error on the listing on the pkg for those early 06 builds. Dodge sent us a e-mail in the fall about the mistake where the flat-folding floor showed in the package on 2500 sport models and should have not. We had a couple of trucks also that had the mistake and Dodge sent us amended window stickers.

The dealer did not take out the floor on you. These kind of mistakes are common. Which I had a copy of e-mail but could not find it, but It did come out sometime in the fall of 05.

I know your frustration, think Dodge would make a accessory to be able to put in truck later, being it is only a $100 option, but they do not. I run across this all the time when the truck does not have option and customer wants folding floor. To order the parts through parts dept is well over $1000.

Enjoy your truck,

Greg :)

Huh?

I did not even look a the truck the day I bought it... . I had looked at it earlier in the week... by myself. I would have LIKED the floor... but the deciding factor for me was the 6 speed... long bed... 3500. They had a bunch of auto's... and 2500's... but did not want one of them.

I just talked to my salesman... Jeff... and all is well. He says it is all too possible for them to forget to put a new sticker on a truck... or trucks. Shoot... I forget what I did 2 hours ago!! He also said that it is against the law to take accessories off one rig and put on another... tires. . wheels... etc. I will admit that I am a bit of a "conspiracy theroist"... chalk that up to too many hours of listening to Art bell in the 90's!! :) I should not have jumped to conclusions or spout off... my bad.

This is my 1st NEW vehicle pruchase... and spending that much money (even when the wife gives the A-OK) was still pretty nerve wracking!!

I will say that I DID buy my vehicle from this dealer because it is the account of one of our salesman... and he has an 04 2500 Cummins... and has had no problems.

I could have bought from any of the 4 in the valley... but I got a good price and I liked Jeff the salesman. I've done LOTS of car dealer remotes over the past 18 years... and have met lots of sales people... Jeff was cool.

Thanks Greg from Bend, OR for your confirmation that there was a change in the models and equipment... That is the info that I was asking for... I knew that someone would know.

I am enjoying my new truck and still can't believe that I bit the bullett and bought a NEW truck!

Lets put this thread to bed and i will be a bit better on my "opinions and thoughts" next time I post up... .

Peace Out!!

Jim

Jim,

Great attitude on your part. You are right mistakes are made often. The load floor is an option worth having. I use mine all the time. Just watch ebay and check out a few junk yards and you should be able to get one at a reasonable price. It will be worth that extra effort for such a great option. No other truck has this great idea except the Ram!
