Cobra-

I could of gotten past programing I, I probably would design my own truck!

All these things I listed I consider worthless, but not so much that it is a big deal. E. g. silencer ring. Worthless for me, but not such a big deal that I'm going to buy a FERD.

The ashtray is pretty useless, to me. But it is a place to put a brake controller (if you get the right one). Also, the second cigarette lighter insert. One should be enough.

All three of my Dodge Cummins trucks have been tits up!:D All of our Dodge vehicles have been steller performers! The only thing that gripes me about my new Dodge Cummins is the overhead console. I don't have a garage and my sunglasses hang from the visor or my nose. I need a stash like I had in my '95 and '98.

LOLx100 @ Straight6JEFF!

Reckon mine's been broken all this time!

10. Paint - or lack there of, too thin for a several hundred thousand mile engine.

9. Console hinge tabs - easily the very first thing to go wrong on my rig.

8. Rear Lift blocks - JEEEZ! Am I the only one that feels like I'm driving a cartoon vehicle when unloaded?

7. DEE Cup Holders - Cup Smoothie should be an OEM option!

6. Lift Pump - CAN I HAVE ONE THAT LASTS MORE THAT 18,000 MILES PLEASE???

5. Rear bumper - Thing must be made of recycled Pinto sheet metal, someone backed into mine with a car in a parking lot and dented it. (Mine is a sport so the front's hiding under plastic fascia)

4. Crank Case Drip Bottle - I have a hard time beleaving that someone envisions making that furry mess all over my fan and front cover, not to mention stinking up my cab!

3. Clutch - Given my rigs light usage, and mildly B. O. M. D. 'd condition, I expected more than 33K out of it. South Bend to the rescue.

2. Lift Pump - I know, it's the second time, but its only fair since I'm on my second replacement already.

1. Warranty - NOTHING TIX ME OFF MORE THAN TAKING MY RIG IN, AND GETTING IT BACK WITH "UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM... " which should go on to say "... but we were able to break some other crap while we were working on it and we did not bother to reassemble things properly or clean up after ourselves, but don't worry, this one is on Dalmer. Please feel free to bring it back again before your bumper to bumper runs out so we can break some more stuff while fixing nothing. "

MAD MAX

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned (or I've missed it) the plastic storage things behind the seat. I first took out the little trays that hang behind the seat, but then took out the tray on the floor as well. They were too noisy with anything in them. I seem to have more room back there now.

bighammer-

I forgot about those things. Probably b/c my girlfriend doesn't make me sit in the back! :p

Don't worry, I dish it out, but I can take it too.

How about a stupid idea

Like putting drink holder/launcher directly above the radio. Who is that genius working for now I wonder. Hope its not DC.

SOLD MY TRUCK TODAY!

After reading these posts I decided I spent too much money on this rig, with so many things wrong and mis-engineered, I got rid of it! :--)

Not... but the cup holders on the manual shift versions aren't very handy.

If you look up the shifter boot in the parts catalog, it's probably cross referenced as the "interior drip catcher" :D

Bighammer - that means the transfer case shifter boot is the dirt catcher... . A very stupid design...

I'd like to add the front seat tracks. I'm 6'5" and there still isnt enough travel.

Oil Filter location - what a PITA!

Replacement tail light bulbs - whoever heard of 3157's!!

Garage door opener holder/cubby/thing in the overhead - these dern trucks wont fit in a garage!

Factory outside mirrors - need I say more?

Stock tires - see above.

Is the '99 different than my '01? This has got to be one of the easiest vehicles to change the oil and filter on that I've ever owned.

No I believe its the same as yours - I'd post a pic, but it looks like there turned off. . Maybe its my big hands that are the problem, my wife always said that I wouldnt make a good OB/GYN :p :p :p :D :D

I dont care for the way the stearing wheel blocks the view of the high low beam indicator. Or maybe it is not the wheels fault?? anyway that really crosses me up and worse is the fact that you cant dim the lights with your left foot never have liked the Modern way of doing this. . Other wise I am pleasantly pleased with my current and previous dodge cummins these truck are tough and dependable. I have out powered many a ford flower child with my cummins for sure got to love that Take care gentlemen and ladies :D :D Oo. Oo.

The hole in the dash

I like the hole in the dash- I keep my cigar cutter and lighter in there- and the ashtray is great- it holds a big cuban churchill and plenty of ashes- and the cupholder is outstanding- holds everything from regular cups to big gulps with the adjustable wings- I like the ergonomics of the vehicle- I keep two coats of top notch wax like Gliptone or Zainos on it and keep it clean the paint is no worse than anything out there- I can't find anything wrong with it but I only have 6k miles on it so I will see how it goes:)

This may or may not fit here, but it's always bothered me- the lack of tow hooks up front. This just seems like a no brainer. Hello DC, it's a truck. NO tow hooks? Why not? It's hard to name any other truck or SUV that doesn't have tow hooks. Geez, even a Lexus SUV has tow hooks. Like an owner of a Lexus would even use them.

I have to add also a vote toward the brakes. Occasionally they feel like the rear ones give way.

I'm still happy with my purchase, even though some valid points were brought up.
