Just wanted to know what other 1st Gen Dually owners are running for tire size; I am currently running 235x85x16 and am wondering if I can go up in size without fear or the duals rubbing?

I have to replace the current rubber on there soon; your opinions welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,

If you haul a lot, 255s may rub the duals. I see you have a 4x4. May look into some 19. 5s- they are a couple inches taller, and will outlast a set of 16s by many many miles. Plus, they just look

I have run 235/85-16s on every dually I have owned, save my first that had the stock 215s.

Thanks

Phil/Daniel:

Thanks for the input... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... if I were to consider the 19. 5s, that would mean going on a Rickson waiting list and darn near a few grand :( or are there other options?

that would mean going on a Rickson waiting list

:-laf :-laf No it wouldn't.

Some Chevy P30/40 series step vans used 19. 5 rims on them. You would need to open the stud holes to 5/8's from the 9/16's that chevy used. Then have the aliegnment slot milled in. Then have the center hole opened just a little. Then your set for 19. 5's

Last time I checked the rims new were $90. each. Any good tire shop can get them new. Machine work should run $30. or so for each rim.

Thanks to jlast for most of this info. He did most of the leg work on this conversion after he found out I have a set of American Racing alumn rims off of a 72 Chevy C30 on my truck.

You got pics of your truck? I checked your gallery and didn't see any.

Not sure if the wheel places up here are that up to speed to get something like that.

Any suggestions down your way that I may be able to contact?

Thanks,

Phil:

Nice looking rig... ... ... ... ... ... I've toyed with the idea of replacing my box but decided to spray it instead.

Thanks for the part number... ... ... ... ... ... ..... in the meantime I will check with the shops around here and see if I can make any headway.
