RobG, I took delivery of a 2001. 5 HO 6spd on 8/8. I had a 99 auto and sold it to order the new truck. I've only had it for a week, but my impressions of the new truck are very good. The brakes (4 wheel discs) are much improved and this truck drives straight. I have been over the truck very well and have not identified any problems. The truck is solid, rides and drives better than the 99 I had. The power is good and the transmission shifts solid. I personnally don't see a need for 4. 10's and wouldn't want them. The fit and finish is good and the interior is very nice and comfortable. I like the dual power/heated seats although I have not had to use the heater part yet. I have only driven it about 200 miles and have no milage figures although the computer says I have averaged 16 mpg. This is all running around town and back and forth to work. I have also had a heavy foot listening to the turbo music with the 6 spd.
I think it is the luck of the draw when it comes to getting a truck that does not wander. My 99 did wander slightly and it would drive me nuts on a long trip. I'm glad I sold my 99 auto and purchased the HO 6spd. The other model upgrades (4 wheel discs, seats, tow mirrors, wheels) are iceing on the cake.
