2001 ETH DEE Waiting Club, Part II

Good news today from DC. My order is now KZ. Orignally ordered 3/13; went D1 3/23. To those in the ETH graduates club, how long does it generally take for a truck to get loaded on a train and begin to roll? I'm getting anxious!

Mine was built finished on Friday April 29 and was on the train by Saturday. It then traveled a short distance from Fenton Missouri and had to be transfered fron BNSF to CXST. This took about 3 or 4 days then it really started moving and was unloaded at the rail yard in Columbia SC on May 9th. It was picked up the next day and was at my local dealer at 3 o' clock on the 10th. I was there waiting on it. I could see it in the parking lot at the rail yard from the hwy and kept driving by until it was gone. Then I went to my dealer. Can you say neurotic.

Seems as though everyone is getting theirs except me. Mine is built and sitting at the North St. Louis plant waiting for an available railcar to ship it down to Fenton. This is probably about a 20 mile trip. Then they'll unload it from the train just to load it back up on an 18-wheeler hauler to truck it here to Louisville. That just seems really damn retarded to me.

nascar: Sorry to hear your's is taking soooo long. Mine was built 5/5 #ad
and was on the rail car the next day. It did set in Il. for one day but is on the move again and the last time I checked it was in North Platte Ne. Scheduled to be in Colo. tommorrow morning and at the dealer on Tue or Wed. I will pick it up on Sat. 5/20. Keep your chin up and just think how good its going to be when you finally get it.

My '97 was built in Mexico and took about 12 weeks from start to finish. Good luck!

You made a good choice on your truck. It seems to me from the posts I've read in the past that the ones that got a 1 ton dually received their trucks relatively quick. It's the 3/4 ton quads w/ 4x4 (especially with SLT+) that take a while. There's a guy on Edmund's town hall that ordered his truck back in Sept. '99 and still doesn't have it.
I guess what burns me up the most is that it has been built since 5/5 and has just been sitting at the plant since. #ad

It finally got here! Checked it out at the dealers tonight. Will be serviced tomorrow and at home by tomorrow night. Ordered 3/25 and delivered 5/16. Now the fun begins #ad

According to DC, it's on the way! The train is in Nebraska tonight; scheuled to arrive in California early Friday morning. Hoping for next week delivery, if all goes well. Originally ordered 3/13, went D1 3/23, was shipped 5/12.

Finally the wait is over. the great white is in. Ordered 3/13 :- 2500 Quadcab 4x4 , 4. 10 antislip rearend,auto transmission,all options except cab lights & plough pkg. Picked her up today ,cant believe the difference in performance,handling,& braking from my 96, 12valver,its a joy to drive. Iam just praying i dont encounter the problems some of you guys have been having,so far so good, with 33mls on the clock,& an average of 7mpg . That had better improve! Well must sign off now & go her some more i cant stand it any more , just sitting out in the driveway begging to be driven. Good luck & speedy delivery to all you guys still waiting.

YEEEEHAAAA!! It has 4 miles on it. The front springs are Rt #039 and Lt #046.
It's been exactly 12 weeks since I paid my down payment.

Mine was built May 5,shipped out on May 10 from valjet, Ill Union Pacfic, arrived in Kent,Wash. This morning now I have a two week (at least) wait while it is barged to Alaska. I followed it across the US on the UP web page, fun. Espar and E-brake are waiting. Anyone here who won the free espar heaters on the groupe price.

Ahh..... post number 1 after lurking since late March.

I too pitched my beat up straw hat into the ring on 5/4. Went BX right away, now D1. Ship date is supposed to be 5/30 from St. Louis, arrival to PHX on 6/14. Then to the shop to tear off the cloth and install dead cow #ad

Well, It's heeeeeer! It (3500 ETH/DEE/SLT+/LEATHER/..... ) I drove it yesterday and it will be preped Monday morning and I will pick it up Monday afternoon. I can hardly wait. I get to play with it for one afternoon and then I have to go out of town for a couple of days. Well, I can look forward to next weekend and I will be putting some miles on the beast. My impression from my short (10 mile) drive is that it has much more power than my '97 auto. I guess its over to the Graduates thread now.
For all of you that are still waiting, Hang in there, The waiting is half the fun. NOT!!!!!!

Still waiting! If DC is correct, my truck has been unloaded from the train car and awaits a hauler for dealer delivery. Hey, graduates! How long does a truck normally sit at the distribution yard before shipping to the dealer?

Thanks Greg, for the e-mail. I'm going on my 6th week now. The dealer tells me It rolled off the line on the 18th. Now it's even harder to wait for it to arrive. We hope it gets here before the 12th of June so we can go to Grand Junction and Visit with our new Grandson. Thanks again.

I have been watching this forum since early Feb and finally joined. I have learned a lot not only about the trucks but about the order process, holds and length of time I can expect to wait.

With that information in mind, I ordered my new 2001 QCab 3500, 4x4, 6spd with everything on 3/29/00. Three weeks ago it was in "D" status but with a hold on the tran. Two weeks ago, back to "C". Into "D1" this week with a build date or 6/1.

It looks like order times are running right around 2 months at this point, based on these forums, however it would not surprise me if it takes longer. I figure this is more time to save a larger down.

My truck was delivered to the dealer today! With any luck, I'll graduate by this weekend. The order was placed 3/13; went D1 3/23; was shipped 5/12; arrived in Calif. 5/18; delivered to dealer 5/24. Total: 10 weeks.
