almost all heavy duty over the road trucks have airride suspension on the chassis and on the cabs,if there was a great deal of added maintenence you can bet big companies would not use them.

1st, I didn't know it was an option, 2nd it looks like everyone seems to like it.

It will be a long time before I'm ready to buy another truck, if there's any issues Ram will either dump or improve it so I will sit on the sidelines for now and see if any issues pop up. I still think the roads here in LA will eat them up.

hopefully they(Ram) will use something better than just a plain rubber bushing to handle the deflection.

On my old 72 Chevy, when I got around to rebuilding the entire suspension, I removed all the factory bushings and replaced with graphite impregnated polyurethene.

I fully intend upon buying a new 2500, guess if it becomes a problem, that will be some parts Genos Garage can add to their catalog!

Still not sure about the air ride system when its out of warranty though. . wonder if that will be part of the 5 yr 100,000 powertrain warranty?

Been looking at 14's, drove one the other day. I couldn't tell much difference in the ride with rear coils, because it's the only one I've ever driven except for my real high mileage '97. Anything feels good compared to that. But the coils are rated for higher payloads than the leafs are, and they advertise a softer ride. We'll see.

I have tried several times to use the Truck Builder function on the RamTrucks.com website in building my Laramie with a 6. 4L. I have not been able to find an option box for the air ride suspension yet. Other than some promo stuff, I cannot find any specifications on it either.

The bushings used on both the front diffs(radius arms) and the rear control arms are huge. As long as they are the same quality as the bushings used on earlier models they should be fine and I am sure they are reducing nvh. It will be tougher to add larger shocks like the 3'' Kings i run with the shock going through a pocket in the frame. 2" aftermarket shocks have been done already

The local dealer had a '14 2500 at a local tractor show yesterday. The rear suspension looks fairly substantial. This particular truck was a reg. cab Tradesman with the G56 trans and a few upgrades, one of which was the 18" wheels. It also used a small diameter (like my '03) steel driveshaft as opposed to the large aluminum shaft. Besides the tach and speedo, the only other gauges were for DEF and fuel- no temp. or oil pressure gauges. A new 5500 also had the same cluster, but I don't know if it was a '13 or '14. I don't know if this is done on the less expensive trucks or is a new item for 2014. Sticker was $44K and change, the selling price was listed as $40,900.

talked to the local dealer today, come to find out the Power Wagon will be available with the 6. 4L, air ride, and Laramie interior!... HHHMMMMMMMM.....

Wow, thanks!. thats the first documentation Ive seen.
Probably going to go with a Laramie, but I will be comparing pricing with the Powerwagon, just to see what the lockers, winch, disconnects, and stickers are worth.
