If you can do it, stop waiting and do it. These trucks have come so far it is UNBELIABLE. Pulled up over the grade from San Diego to Az and hardly ever touched the brake or the fuel pedal. Went to Idaho, Dave Smith. No complaints all good. NO I have never work there and do not have any family that does.

Yeah, they are pretty incredible. I haven't driven in the mountains with a load yet, but I was on a road trip yesterday and with the exhaust brake on the auto setting you can literally set the cruise control and it will maintain speed going up, and hold the speed going down, even on the long 7% grades I was on.

Well, last week after does ends of hours of trying to find the right truck on the lots, I ended up ordering a Laramie CC-4x4-DRW. As of Saturday it was in "D" status. This truck will have every bell and whistle I wanted. We are already looking for some campgrounds near The GSMNP. I am wound up tighter than Dick's hatband.
I did hate to see my 3rd Gen drive off today in the hands of its new owner. It was the best vehicle I've owned. That whopping resale value for a 9 year old truck enabled me to move on this new machine.

Congrats to you. I just returned from my third trip, all short ones. 3000 miles and love my truck. The comfort of this ride is WOW.
Hope your new one arrives quickly. Enjoy.

I'm amazed at the comfort compared to my 2nd gen. When I first got it, it wasn't as comfortable, then I realized they put 85 pounds of air in the back duals, instead of the called for 65. My front tires were actually under-inflated. Once I got that all sorted, it not only road better but the little tread squirm I had, due to the low front pressure went away and the truck was perfect.

You sold your truck before the new one arrived?!? Oh-oh!
The anticipation will drive you nuts but, it's worth the wait. Mine was 90 days exactly to the middle of the US. (after ordered)
They are everything Mother Mopar says they are. Even the the air suspension, if you tow a lot. (which I waited over a year for)

Yeah, I sold it for the same (sight unseen) trade in price the dealer said they'd give me for it too. But like the ancient proverb says "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush".
I work offshore so I'll just have to rent a car for a day twice between now and when I think the truck should be ready. I was giving it 8 weeks. The only stretch of time I'll be ashore between now and then will be spent at Walt Disney World which the wife's Town & Country will take us and Mickey Mouse provides all transport while there.

When I ordered my '15, it took 5 weeks. Dealer wanted to give me a laughable amount of money for the trade, so I told him no thanks. AFter my truck came in, and I listed my 2nd gen, it sold in 10 minutes on Craigslist for full asking price, which happened to be about 5 times more than the dealer was going to give me.

It would be nice to get it sooner. But the way I work I am free to go get it during week 5 and week 9. This dealer came right out with a great trade in price. We were negotiating a deal for a truck on the lot. The truck sold before I made up my mind and he told me I could build one and he'd honor the trade in price and give me the same discount on it. I like the way the guy come right out with some good numbers and no BS. He was also on the ball with communicating with me over email which is easier for me when I'm on the boat. The local dealership was too lethargic with everything so I ended up building a truck with a salesman 10 hours away.
I went with Don Vance Auto in Marshfield, MO. They seemed to have it together there. Almost made a deal with Kernersville Dodge in North Carolina who had some good numbers and also knew how to treat people but the guy at Don Vance got my attention with the bigger trade in value. Those two were the best out of about 6 dealerships I had direct communications with in the Southeast.

Me and my boy will have a nice little road trip around the beginning of July.

I say amen I had 2nd Gen 3500 DRW 98.5 24v. Upgrades to motor and transmission Pacbrake. For the year very good truck drove it back and forth to work pulled a number of types of trailers most 5th wheel 2 different ones did a great job. No major repairs over 17 years of driving many trips to Daytona FL and Darlington SC, and many other places. Now 2014 3500 DRW stock Night and day difference. Can go up big mountains in cruise control and not have to take it off because it over reves not so in the 95.5. This truck out shines the 2nd Gen in every way "I LOVE MY TRUCK"
