I imagine this has been around and around but so far I can’t find it. I’d like to install some new headlights. I had looked on YouTube a while back and seen a video about pulling the grill, I thought, OMG, what next. Today I found something much simpler, just a couple bolts and a lever up under or behind the headlight assembly . Anyone used this technique ? I’m hoping hoping Marion has a video but I haven’t found it yet.

Anyone replaced their original headlight assemblies, and are you happy and what did you get ?

Thanks.

Most of the stuff out there is chinese made and the lenses go first. I kept my stock housings and added LED lamps. Made a world of difference. You will need to adjust them down a bit , so you don't blind oncoming vehicles.

Thanks very much. That's kinda how I'm leaning now. I'll most likely order a couple new lights from Genos. What LED bulbs do you like ?

I rented a 2019 Laramie 1500 a good while back and was astounded at how good those headlights were. My 2003 3500 had terrible lights, worse than what's on this truck. I guess manufacturers are hard pressed to keep initial costs down, and headlights aren't something you're going to notice, maybe, on a test drive.

Yeah my 04.5 was bad. I ended up with metal halides out of a BMW. Alot of work. There is a thread I will find that was helpful.

The Laramie you had probably had projectors but they missed the mark by only using halogen bulbs. Is better though.

Well it is part of the business model, the base headlights have to be bad - why should I as customer else pay an upgrade to a better light.
