The H.O. Cummins is a lot more rattley if that’s a word, and will clatter when cold. But even in the manual the say NORMAL!

If you have any time in a diesel, you know the sound.

power is off the page !

I’ve owned sports cars with a LOT less press into the seat acceleration than this TRUCK!
your reply - i just started to salivate. LOL . cheers comrade!

Great looking ride ! I ordered a Laramie Longhorn about a month ago . I hope my build time is just as quick . Good Luck with it really sweet!

The 3:73 rear ratio is better than the 3:42's the SRW 3500 used to have. However the program will keep your RPM's as low as possible, try T/H to keep your RPM's in the sweet spot, and see if there is a difference.

I get some timing rattle under certain circumstances, but that's about it.

The 2014 2500 I drove for 30K miles had the 3:42, and would constantly rattle, what I refer to pinging, due to the low RPM's. As noted prior, keep your RPM's @ 15-1600 in the lower speeds, that should help in your rattle, thats what T/H will do for you.

Love the color, I take it, its the HO? congrats!

my old 03 was Patriot blue, liked that blue lot more than the 2017 we have now, shouldn't have read this thread ........

You can’t state that. According to some of the experts :D here on TDR.....3.73’s were/are “compromise” gears. My 3.73’s performed great on my 2014 RAM 3500 DRW.

Nice! I see they still come with the Firestone tires. Only shortcoming with RAM 2500 & 3500 SRW trucks imo. Got rid of these marginal tires after enduring them for less than 10k miles after buying my 2016 4 years ago. Replaced them with Michelin LTX and haven't looked back or regretted the expense. Rides better; quieter; and completes an otherwise well engineered truck.

Next set will be Michelins !

because I got the snow king prep, they put those Firestones on.

oh well!
