Thanks for all the input.

Unfortunately, the dealer is backing out on part of the deal. Guess I will continue driving my 17.

I agree, there is nothing wrong with my 17.

I was looking to "upgrade" sometime or another and the 22 had everything I wanted. Price wise, it was a good deal

Here is the truck if any interest: https://www.thunderchrysler.com/vehicle-info/new-2022-ram-3500-3c63r3kl5ng383570
That does seem like a decent deal.

What did the dealer back out on?

I don’t understand why any dealer would order a long bed without the 50 gallon tank. I’m surprised it isn’t standard.

It should be!!... the std tank is way too small for a 1T truck towing,. the 04 had the 36 gal tank which was still small but adequate, I wish my 2020 had the 50g, but I do ok with the 60g aux tank.. just takes some bed space away.

Looks like that truck had all the bells and whistles for sure . My truck is a tradesman. I opted for the ho aisin . It’s awesome beast tons of power and stops great all I need and nothing I don’t To me simple is mostly better

Do sometimes wish I had a bigger fuel tank 28 gallon was all I could get on a regular cab long box. I learned on last years road trip on the alaska highway that you fill up at every town no matter what . Sometimes the next town is out of fuel. Almost ran out once . Had maybe a gallon left. Pulled into the station and it was closed. I was going camp at the pumps until morning. Actually not a uncommon thing to do in the wide open spaces

Deal may be back on...lol

I have a 45 gal aux fuel tank in bed of my 17. The dealer offered to move to new truck as past of the deal. Then sales guy emailed this AM saying that their service manager said NO.

But now, they offered to take another $2,400 off the price and allow me to keep the trade (17) so I can take some where to have the tank moved.

So, with trade (42K)...OTD will be $40K

That’s not a bad deal, and with the added fuel you don’t need to worry about the smaller OE tank.

Not sure about that, you can’t really compare a 98.5 to a 4th Gen. The 4 door 2nd Gen body with the 12V was just a rare truck.

Until the CP3 was reintroduced I would have agreed, but now that we are back to a CP3 there isn’t anything to make an older 4th Gen the golden child.

There wasn’t anything negative about my ‘18, but the ‘22’ is better.

That being said, Ram really seems to be stripping features and upping the price on the 23’s. See what happens for ‘24.

Was NOT comparing the two, they are totally different rides. Just sayin the 16-18 will be sought after like the 98 12V. They all had several things fixed or up graded compared to previous years. Notice I did not include my 15, PIZZ ant little backup cam in my rear view because I ordered a useless cargo camera for one.

"There wasn’t anything negative about my ‘18, but the ‘22’ is better." For your sake I hope it stays better.

On my 17 I thought the brakes were terrible. To me, had to press to hard on the pedal to get it to stop. I was going to put on different pads, but never got around to it.

Dang guys, I have an 06 with 186,000 miles on it, that I've had since new. I was thinking about trading in, on a newer one, until reading all these posts.
