Sorry if I appear dense - I just want to be absolutely sure that if I go ahead with the COMP, that connected the way I plan, I get at LEAST the same maximum power level I would with the EZ connected the same way... I'm still waiting for a reply from Edge - but direct info from actual users is LOTS more preferable to me...
SOOoo - other comments relative to the Comp and EZ have indicated that the Comp, when NOT using the wire connect to the injector pump - not the data connection, but the one that taps directly into the pump wire - will then deliver essentially the SAME performance gains the EZ does - it just avoids the additional stress (AND additional available power) upon the injector pump that last direct connect would create... Greg's comment also seems to support that assumption:
"There is an additional wire with the comp used to tap into the VP44. This is the connection that the dealer looks for in order to void any warrantee claims by the truck owner. It also is where the extra 60+ hp comes from.
Both the EZ and the comp do add fuel, but they do it through the data port connection and within the factory [ECM?] fueling parameters. This limits the max fueling and timing to the approx. 60 HP that the EZ will provide. You need to tap the Vp44 wire to get above this limit. "
If I have properly interpreted this, and the Comp WILL provide essentially all the power gains the EZ will *without* attaching the VP44 wire, and hopefully even connected that way, still allow different levels of power setting. THAT is exactly what *I* am looking for! That will probably give me all the additionl power I want - but will still leave me the option for MORE if my greed or needs change...
And unless there was some need to physically install the control head for the Comp inside the passenger compartment, I'd probably simply set it at the level I want, carefully wrap it, and tuck it somewhere outta the way inside the engine compartment...
Yeah - some will say "why not simply hook it ALL up, and only use the lower settings... ?"
NAHHhhh - I know human nature - MINE as well as others

- and would undoubtedly be overcome with poor judgement when the chips were down, and give in to the temptation to "go for broke" to stay ahead of that Ford behind me...
