Im towing over 8klbs in mountainous conditions and this 2500 is barely breaking a sweat. Huge difference from a 1500. Our tow rating is 17.5klbs. Lots of wiggle room indeed.
OP you already have a big trailer, it might be all you need. You might also buy another trailer and not go to 5th wheel or camper. Having a cap and all that storage is hard to give up. A 2500 is then a very competent choice. Add the Cummins and its a tow beast. I do think you will find greater choices used in the 2500 series as well.
