2nd gen alloy rims on a first gen

a friend wants to put a set of second gen alloys on his '91 ...



any problems?

They will fit if it doesnt have the Dana 80. Otherwise they wont clear the drum you wont be able to get the wheel on it. They may not fit the 70 either. If the brakes are smaller than 13" I believe they'll fit.

they wont fit then if you are alking about the aluminum wheels. I was going to buy a set for my 97 and a place here in town that carries take offs said they wont clear the big drums. I thought the first gens had a dana 70?

The 5 star steelies will fit, alloys will hit rear drums. The steelies, however have a 5/16" difference in backspacing making your rear axle wheel's width just over an INCH NARROWER! If you like a truck that has a rear end that looks like a chebby S10, install the 2nd gen wheels on the 1st gen.
