Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 2nd gen flywheel

i recently put a new clutch in my 92 and it came with the needle bearing style pilot bearing my flywheel has a hole clear through where the bearing presses in . my question is do the newer trucks flywheel bore go clear through or do i need to fill the engine side of the bore in so the grease stays in the bearing . thanks

As far as I know, on all of the trucks, the center hole goes all the way through. The input shaft from the transmission goes through it & will keep the grease in the bearing.



I did my clutch upgrade a week ago and I put a VERY LIGHT coat of synthetic transmission assembly lube on the nose of the input shaft, splines and the input cover, where the throwout bearing moves back & forth.



I have done this on several clutch installs & haven't had any complaints.
