Almost 11 years w/DRW as daily driver/work truck. Check signature,(W-series=4x4), 135" wb, longest avail. then. Have been in all kinds weather/terrain. Run Mud Terrains. Not bad in mud, but, as previously stated, front end, w/skinny tires, sinks like a stone. Been there. Have had very good success on ice and snow tractionwise, but is heavier than SRW, and everything stops the same in these conditions, poorly! Never chained, but have them. Previous posts contain good instructions. Off-roading this vehicle has been limited to jobsite access. Compared to similar ancient trucks, mileage has been less, but avg. 17mpg over time and miles has saved me enough dollars that my order for '01. 5 ETH/DEE LWB CC 4x4 goes in mid-Oct. #ad

I have both a 95 2500 and a 01 3500 The 3500 handles the same load Alpenlite 9' camper and trailer much better. Smow and mud will be a problem. Mine are both 4x4s

<font color=blue> ... . and when you're ready for the "real" rubberneckers, bring your truck and the camper over to Europe for a vacation, chances are you won't see many, if any, like it, except mine of course!; only down side is the price of fuel - but you'll get more smiles per mile with a dually! Go for it! Peg the #ad

Thanks again. I am pretty set on the HO 6spd. (10/4/00--order went in today(

I will be staying out of mud as much as possible but do enjoy travelling in new snow before it becomes packed and called ice!

Happy Camper,
Just checking, you do know there are special adapters to move the front jacks out for dually fender clearance?? you should have a little more room than 3/4 of an inch.

Mike!
Thanks for the post. This is the info I need.

Mistake #1. There is no clearance, as a matter of fact the dually is 1 1/2" wider than the camper jacks. I ordered yesterday (the 3500 that is) so I will be contacting the RV friendly parts person in Bend.
