Which 5.9 Block Is The Best.

I am having Autoworld in Montana do some work on my truck and left my Fluidampr part# 920301 for them to install. They ran into a problem, with the damper installed, there isn't any room between it and the fan pulley to get the serpentine belt back on. The dampner would have to be removed to install a new belt on the road. Has anyone else run into this? I have a call in to Vibratech, and they are going to get their diesel guy to call me on Monday.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Yes we have one and there is no room for the belt to be slid in easily. We did get it to barely clear but it is not your easiest job when it comes to installing a belt. It sure makes the engine run much better. I think it has made a slight increase in hp also. GOOD product. Thanks

Brett,

Thanks for the information. I will talk to Vibratech tomorrow and see what else they can come up with. I will just install mine and change the belt a little more often and carry the tools to pull the dampner.

The condition you describe is normal.

Its a necessary evil to have the benefits of a large damper.

There just isnt much room for clearance of the belt during install.

Easiest way is to removed the damper or loosen it up for belt install.
