I wonder if the door was removed by the rescue workers using the Jaws of Life (I guess that's what they call they call the hydraulic press that is used to open up things)?

I know that is what they used on my furd explore that rolled in 96 with me in it. The fire department will use either side of a door way to open up the door where ever the jaws fit in.

Jim, small world, I am an Aurora Fireman. Yes they popped the door on the front hinges. Not the typical way that we open doors as we normally pop the back first, then take the front. It worked though...

From a professional perspective, I would have liked to see the floor board.

Oftentimes in crashes like this, the floor board crushes upwards trapping the persons feet between the pedals and the floor. This truck wouldn't have been too bad to work with as it sits. It is when the car is up against a tree or in a ditch and there is no access. That is when finesse with an 80 pound tool becomes a challenge.

These hitches seem to be way stronger than they are rated. I shoulda got a pic of the hitch on this one, and I shoulda thot about the floorboards, but after I wrote my witness statement, I just wanted to leave. Have been to too many of these things, glad someone else was doing the dirty work now.
