Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 47re pump question?

Hey I am going through my transmission and checking for damage or wear as I go, and with approx 145k on it it does not look to bad. My question is on the pump stator where the three check balls are I cant tell if they are tooling marks(normal?) or chips around the area where the check balls reside?---any input is greatly appreciated. ---thanks
