The rew Rams offer the option of a gooseneck hitch setup for the instalation of a hitch. Isit worth the money or is there a better les expensive option?

Get the option for the pucks, but not the hitch. Buy a B&W hitch, no mater the price difference. The best hitch on the market.

I am a fan of the Turn over ball gooseneck hitch (#1314) with out the puck system, and the Companion 5er hitch......Either way works great, the TOB way is a few hundred dollars less. Puck option from Ram is around $500 and the companion hitch for it is $1150. Or the TOB gooseneck is $379 and the companion for that is $879 and $80 or so for the in bed plug.

Check out Gsikes set up here (red truck). Wish I'd had that option in 2013 but I've got the 2012 frame.

Just don't waste money on Ram's picture frame adapter unless you already have a hitch that you plan to use.

Agree B&W is the best. But I would opt for the Gooseneck puck and trailer plug option and get the RVK3600 B&W. Rock solid!

Yes, the B&W Companion 3600 utilizes the Ram puck system. See the photo in post #6.

I originally installed the B&W Turnover center piece on my truck which has the 5th wheel prep because the 3600 was not available when I purchased my 2014. With that I was able to use my old Companion Hitch. I really wanted the puck mount for the extra strength.

I used the old hitch for two towing seasons. I recently purchased the 3600 but just the bottom piece that fits the pucks. I contacted B&W and was told that the top piece was the same and mine would fit the heavier bottom. It fits and the benefit is that my 18k hitch is now a 25k hitch.

If anyone lives near the Twin cities area in Minnesota and wants the old bottom that fits the turnover ball center, contact me. I won't ship it because it's too much bother to pack up the beast. It's just taking up space in my garage. And for your own use please, not for resale... OK? Then all you need is the top piece to make a full companion hitch.

Same here, except our 2011 wasn't available with the puck system, so we had been using an 18K-rated B&W Turnoverball Companion 5th wheel hitch. When we bought our new 19K GVWR 5th wheel in May 2014, I upgraded the Companion to the new 20K-rated 3500 base and uprights, but B&W advised that I could still use the original hitch head that I've been using since September 2001.

Yes, the 1st hitches were/are only rated for 18K but many RVers go over that. The upper head unit is way over built and the jaws are massive next to a competitor that is rated a lot higher. I was able to tour the plant in Kansas, they are quality first minded.

Same, but you have to install the bracket under the bed and is bolted in, you'll have to drill a hole in the bed for the gooseneck and companion 5th wheel hitch. It is a nice clean setup that isn't hard to install.

B&W gooseneck kit #1314 is what you want, along with the 3500 companion hitch. A simple install.....almost takes longer to unpackage the hitch and read the instructions than it does to install it.

I have a 2016 Ram 3500 dually on order with the tow package puck system and thinking about getting the Curt Q24 5th wheel hitch. I pull a 2013 Montana 3725RL, it has a 14,000 lb. Max load rating (I have not weighted mine yet to find actual weight).

What do you guys think about the Curt hitch?
