Though I'd bring this thread back up and let you guys know the latest.
After drilling the higher fill hole and adding the Redline "shock proof" oil the neutral grind quieted about 30% (the best so far) but cold weather shifting is difficult in all gears except 5th and 6th. Once the transmission warms up to about 75 deg it shifts great. So, if you live in Death Valley this might work for you but not here in good ol San Jose, Ca. where it’s been getting down to about 30 in the morning

Next attempt: I'm going to remove the Red line "shock proof" oil and replace it with the OEM oil. I'm curious to know if the added 2 1/2 quarts will have the same affect as the Red Line in quieting the beast.
MGM, I’m still working on how many tubes of grease I’ll need to fill that massive 6 speed transmission
