After I fill up my DTE shows 325-330. I got my truck re-flashed today and hope this may help. I filled up after the re-flash and the DTE still showed 325-330 miles.

Zues, what reflash did you get? I did not think there was one out yet. I was at the dealer today and they had no knowledge of one.

Every time I do some hauling and run the truck rather hard my mileage will improve. I have 18,000 miles and empty it's pretty easy to get 20+mpg. Last tank was in the mid 24's and this tank is looking even better but I drive like an old man.

Mileage when new was decent, mid 19's. It just seems to keep getting better. But I'm running the best combo for good economy with a 4x2, 6sp, and 3. 73 gears.

Is there a place that anyone knows of that you can go and see what updates are available for your truck. The flash mentioned by Zues is a good example.

Ok here is my two cents..... After I bought my truck in early April, see sig, I was really excited because of the MPGs diesels supposedly get... This is my first diesel. So I started to put miles on the truck and was getting roughly 12-15mpg empty mixed driving. Kind of disappointing. But this truck is the most powerful stock truck on the market. Talked to diesel owners they told let her break in and mileage will increase... . Ok I'm at at around 8,000 miles no change. I get between 10 and 12 towing depending on terrain. No change on highway driving still arpund 14-15mpg. I talked to the dealer when I had the truck in for warranty work. Asked about a reflash. This was around end of April. I was told the computer was up to date. Reading all of these posts I have come to a conclussion. The best set up for mileage is 2wd, manual with 3. 73. I believe in looking at sigs that most of us with the problems are 4x4 auto's with 4. 10 I was my dealer knew more when I bought the truck. Actually I wish I would have known about TDR prior to buying. I wouls have bought the truck with 3. 73. I live in missouri and don't need 4. 10's My boat and trailer weigh around 8,500# So iguess to make myself happy about the poor mileage and the rear end I should just by a bigger boat to really make my truck work when I tow! :) Am I disappointed in the mileage yes. Do I lose sleep, no! Most of the summer diesel has been cheaper than gas. I am getting a little better mileage than my 02 quad cab with the 5. 9L. So I in conclussion, if they are truly coming out with a reflash that will help with mileage, I will have it done. If it works great. If not I'm out $40. Overall I am happy with my truck. Sure we all would love to have our trucks getting 40-50mpg towing our max, but it's not realistic to think you can have a 10,000# truck making 325hp and 600 torque with 4x4 and 4. 10 and an automatic getting 20-23 mpg without one hellofa tailwind and a steep downhill grade. If I was looking for great mileage I would have bought a hybird. So I will live with mid-teens. IMO

Based on my own truck I'd have to agree with you. So I suppose we were not the fortunate ones or everyplace we drive is not down hill. Anyway I got the NEW REFLASH today. But bummer,... they found another bad injector. That's 7 new injectors as STAR would only let them do 3 at a time and then one of the brand new ones was bad. They want to test it again Monday after sitting all weekend with the new program and the the new 7th injector. Then I'll get it back,... hopefully and a couple days later I'll have some hand calculated numbers for you guys.

Should you decide to go up to the big 35" tires many like you will be happy with the 4. 10's

I have the 3. 73's with auto and for towing IMO 33" is max size for me anyway.

When I went to the dealer, the dealer scanned my computer and got a number. The number was typed into a computer at the Dodge website that all dealers can access. It came up saying that there is an update for my ECM. This was all done under warranty. Hope this helps.

Hrmm, well I will pass that on. A couple people I know have 600's with poor mpg- thanks

Yes,. . they Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo. can do the NEW REFLASH for both mpgs and white smoke on start up. I was on a plane when I learned that they had done the reflash. It was after hours by the time I got into town and part of the message was that I had yet another bad injector and that they had changed it but they wanted to try it on Monday morning to see if everything was working properly. I'll request the TSB # on Monday morning and post it,. . if they'll give it to me. Originally I was told this Reflash wouldn't be out till probably October but I had asked them to check on it since the Service Manager had told me he had checked with STAR on Monday of last week following the input I had given him on one soon being available. They (STAR) told him that it might be out after the 15th and sure enough it was. Tune in on Monday and I'll try to get the TSB.

Just to note, my 04. 5, build date 4/04 with the 325/600, 48RE 4X4 4:10 SRW Q/C has gotten a best of 18. 8 so far, and averages between 16. 5 and 17. 8, all around driving and calculating every tank by hand. Running with smooth tread michelins, 60 psi in front and 55 psi in the rear tires. No complaints here, and have seen a slight steady improvement in mileage after passing the 10K mark, just shy of 13K now.

Ok, I checked by my VIN to see if this TSB is out there on the above link and it told me that "No Incomplete Recalls or Customer Satisfaction Notifications Exist". Is it too soon yet to have that info on the above site? I too would like to have a little better mileage out of this pig.
