Here is your yearly invitation to attend the 2nd best First Gen Meet known to Dodge Diesel truck owners. The date will be Saturday June 6th, 2015. As usual the grounds around the house and shop are available for camping, and everyone is welcome to roll in Friday, there may even be some rolling in on Thursday. Friday whoever is here, I try and finish cleaning up the shop and get people settled in, and in the evening we go to Creston for supper. Saturday morning whoever is here at the farm we convoy to town and have breakfast around 8am at the Family Resturaunt, and meet up with those that stay in the Motel 8. After breakfast we return to the shop for bench racing, wrench bending, test drives, tech support, and most of all visiting with great friends. Lunch and dinner will be Potluck, and served in the shop. The meat for both meals will be provided, and cooked on a grill or crock pots. Please feel free to bring salads, deserts, side dishes and such. The food has always been good and it seems to get better every year. A couple weeks before the event I will start a new post as a Roll Call, and those that are coming can post what they are bringing so we can get a game plan together. Festivities usually go late into the night, if the weather allows we will have a campfire to sit around and chat. This event is a family event, bring your wives and kids, my wife and girls will be here to show others around the farm. There is chickens, calves, horses, and dogs around. This event is BYOB, and its never been a problem before, but its a drug free event. Leave that at home. Usually Sunday morning everyone gets around and loads up to head for home, ending the weekend.

Motel 8 in Creston can be contacted at 641-782-6541. It is a pretty decent motel as far as cleanliness and price. The Supertel can be reached at 641-782-7873, its nice but I understand it is usually a bit more expensive then the Super 8. Call and get your reservations early, they do tend to fill up quickly for some reason. Breakfast on Saturday will be right next to the Super 8. There is also a Walmart right next to both these Motels for supplies.

To figure mileage and make travel plans, use Creston Iowa in you mapquest, our farm is about 11 miles from Creston between Lenox and Creston. As people respond to the Roll Call thread in May, I will send out my physical address in PM form.

If you have never been to SOP or this Iowa Meet, and you have a first gen, please come and visit. I'm pretty sure NO-ONE has ever left here disappointed. There are great people that come here every year, from every age group-teenagers to retired guys, and working class. Don't worry if your truck has rust rocker panels, or a dented box side. Lets be realistic, all these trucks are over 20 years old, and most have been work trucks. There will be some very nice unmolested trucks, some hot rods, some work trucks, modified beasts, and some stockers. My old red truck is nearly missing all its rocker panels, but it will be in attendance. Polish up your rides, pack your sleeping bag, make something to add to our meal and come on out. I look forward to it every year, as do many. Also don't worry too much about the weather, the shop is big enough we can make it work rain or shine, cool, or hot.

I hope to see many of you there. If the mods are so inclined, please replace the sticky up top.

Even though there has been no responses, will anyone from here be coming? I will send location address via pm if anyone is heading this way. Travel safe, don't miss out on a good time and good friends.
