93 4x4 cummins. There is a serious vbration when you first start the truck up. It doesn't go away until you give it a step on the gas and keep it off idle.

any ideas would be great. THanks in advance alex

I had a similar problem in my 92 W250; my father had the same thing in his 92 W350. Both had had transmission work. Mine didnt start til after I replaced the clutch. I'm thinking it may have been something just a hair out of line upon reassembly. I never worried about it, but it was a bit of a mystery.

My 91 fell victom to the same thing after a clutch replacement. The new presure plate was outa balance, after removing it and reinstalling another it is smother now than it was but still viberats just a we bit. Jon

Alex, What is your idle set at ? Per the data plate on mine it should be 800 RPM, when mine is lower than that it will be a little rough too... .

If the idle is a tad too low, the exhaust line will set up a resonance that is quite noisy and you can feel the shake as well. Walk around and put your boot/shoe on the tail pipe. See if that quiets it. This will be altogether different from a (clutch, torque converter, or worn flywheel) balance problem. I have experienced/felt all four things at one time or another.
